Me, when he loses his identity. There was no point of him being in the film, he was just a random thing. Silent Hill was excellent though, apart for Sean Beans parts anyway, went to see it 3 times!
remember though it's not Pyramid Head, it's Red Pyramid, so I'm not sure if they are going to change it in the next film (if they even have him show up) doesn't really matter though, as it was perfectly fine in the first film...
loses his Identity? ;) I'm not sure what you mean by that...as he doesn't really have one...in fact he's one of many...
As you know the Sean Bean scenes were written in due to the original script only having female characters, I think it explained a lot to people who have never even heard of Silent Hill before...even if they didn't really understand the films setting.
(the only bit in the film I didn't like, was the bit with the explanation of what had happened, it was the only part that didn't need to be there...or...could have been done better, or even been shorter) still love the film, just hope they keep it up for the next installment. ***bites nails*** until 2010

Intended watching 'Mr + Mrs Smith' on C4 for the first 15 minutes or so to see if it was worth getting cheap on DVD. Five minutes later - ker-lick! That's quite enough of that rubbish thank you. The film simply has Brangelina playing, well, Brangelina. No characters as such just two Heat / Hello regulars wandering about but then I guess that's the attraction for the films target audience. Bizarre.

You should have given it a bit more time. I don't think that the SM scene is in the first 15 minutes -- and certainly not the quality of mindless mayhem which bestows upon the film its charm. :)
Don't forget that the cheap DVD gives you the option of skipping to the best bits.:) :) :)

3 mins in is so EN. sorta industrial sounds explanation . not everyone likes en or gets it.. ditto eraserhead .
This is a bit of a two parter...
Part 1
Watched 3/4 of "I Know Who Killed Me" which wasn't bad so I ended up putting it on my Netflix list.
Part 2
I just saw "The Happening". I truly believe it is M. Night Shyamalan's unofficial comedy/thriller. Its definitely a thriller but you just didn't expect to laugh while watching the movie. Zooey Deschanel was hilarious. I just loved her dead-pan looks in some scenes. I gotta catch her on tour performing in her band She and Him.
Anyway, if you plan to watch the film do yourself a favor - forget thinking about extra-terrestrials. I assume the film's one liner in the script was: "Mother Earth is pissed and wants her planet back!" There you go.

"Der unheimliche Mönch" - "The creepy munch"
A typical Edgar Wallace film set up in a creepy castle where a munch appears out of the nothing and breaks his victims the neck with a whip with a small lead ball at the end. Snap and he's dead.
Of course there's a fortune to inherit. Very funny, the creepy munch was the chief of a white slave ring who kidnapped girls from the boarding school he worked at as a kind of butler. :D I love this Edgar Wallace films with the masked murderers. :D
ok i jsut looked at the last two posts, so i have no idea what the ultra viloet debate is, but what you guys need to notice if you are ever forced to watch it again, is how wierdly airbrushed she is, i thought it was just an effect they did for that movie, but i noticed it on the last resident evil movie too, but only for the closeups, so for the far away shots you can see she is all puffy eyed and ragged, but then up close cover girl smooth( i am talking digitally airbrushed ontop of the film, not airbrushed makeup) its fuckin weird and distracting!

Unfortunately her beauty does not outweigh the RUBBISH that this film is...
I was too confused and wondering what the hell was going on to pay enough attention to her, if I focussed on her for a mere split second then the whole film went out the window, and there's nothing that infuriates me more than when I can't understand a film.

I know what you mean - the main coda for the music in "Requiem For A Dream" stays with you pretty much for ever - I can hear it note for note in my head as I'm typing this. Considering Mansell's start in PWEI he's really nailed the soundtrack lark - "PI" had a cracking one too, though in a different chaotic techno way.

hmmm I did post about this...no idea where it's gone
anyway, what I said was, great film, totally obliterates the Ang Lee film in a big "HULK SMASH" kinda way...(I liked Eric Bana though, he was pretty good in the role) but enough about that film...
the whole idea of this film (including Iron Man and future releases) is that they are trying to stay as close to the original ideas as possible, this one mostly taking from the Bill Bixby TV series (a cameo (if you can call it that) nicely included at the start of the film) and the Cartoon series...and of course the comics.
there were a couple of problems with the film though...one would be casting Liv Tyler...the woman can't act...every scene with her in was just...eh...for me, she really brought the film down...
the next part would be (not to spoil it for people...) the end battle...there's a part in it where you just think..."why?...why would you do that?" but yeah...I know...why...;)
much better than Iron Man, Edward Norton is excellent as Bruce Banner, and William Hurt is pretty well cast as the general...and Tim Roth...brilliant :D.
can't wait for more...though...having witnessed the teaser trailer for the new Punisher film...:( kinda makes me a little bit mad...Ray Stevenson...not a good choice in my book...going on overall film look...I'd still have to say that the old Dolph Lundgren version still looks more like a Punisher film...even the though it was never that great...I hope I'm wrong...I really do...:(

Yes, Lisa -- I think that quite good describes O Brother Where Art Thou? very well. When I finished watching it, I was less impressed than I'd been earlier in the film. I heard somewhere that the soundtrack CD was a bigger hit than the film.

I NEED HELP
I'm looking for a film, a short film actually, i have a feeling if anyone here knows it, it'll be Carpy, but i'll ask generally. It was this thing broadcast ages ago on Channel 4. It's a foreign animation about this old man and his cat who live on the sea, and in a sort of other world. Time is all slow there, and the sea is green and almost looks like its made of glass. They see a whale jumping through the sea at one point with other people and it takes days to happen for them. At the end of the film, it goes to a nearby boat and a little boy looking through binoculars says something like "There! A whale jumped, just for a second!" It was so cool, but i cannot for the life of me remember the name of it! Ring any bells with anyone?

is that the box set, or the single dvd's?
I know the single dvd's came out before the anamorphic view was widely used, I would have thought it would have been rectified in the box set...
I got the 3rd movie on R1...so I don't think I have a problem with scanning through...
but then some dvd players wont let you view certain parts of a dvd...depending on how the dvd was made, and how good the dvd's laser is.
I have ***counts in head...trying to remember*** I think 7 (maybe 8) dvd players, all different makes in the house (including ps2 and xbox360 and pc), and some play everything but I find the cheaper the dvd player is, you'll have problems with menus and that type of stuff...the cheaper dvd lasers don't seem very good for dual layers...but it's only certain dvd's.
but then, I always have a back up player...:D

a good site to check http://www.dvdcompare.net/index.php
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=201
says the best version is the German R2 release unrated directors cut, and anamorphic transfer.
and for BOX SET it's R1 due to the amount of extras and ratio's
shame...I was going to replace the old single discs with the the trilogy at some stage...now I have no idea what to do...hmmm guess it'll be the R1 box set...if I can be bothered ;)...but then they'll probably be out on Blu Ray by the time I can spend any dosh on them :D

Managed to see a good documentary film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival last week - Order of Myths.
It's about the Mardi Gras/Carnival in Mobile, Alabama - the oldest in the USA. Very gently, it reveals how this remains a bastion of segregation in that city with separate events run by black people and white people. There are signs that things are changing however and it was an engrossing and uplifting film. They had the director and two of the main protagonists for a Q&A afterwards which was the icing on the cake.

Bring It On -- In It To Win It. The 4th film in the series. Not bad, I think. In order of quality, I'd say that the Bring It On films fall into this order: 1, 3, 4, 2. Mind, anyone who dislikes seeing fit young women leaping about and flashing their gym knickers is probably best advised to avoid the entire series.
*mental note - search for 'bring it on' box set, probably not best 'secondhand' though*
Peter, got Mr & Mrs Smith for £2.50 inc. P&P off eBay. Still to watch it though..... Are you 100% sure Angelina Jolie gets her baps out to an almost, but not quite, tiresome degree? I mean £2.50 - I could have bought a packet of Tunnock Caramel Wafers and Tea Cakes for that!

I'm afraid, Mr Softlad, that -- if you want to see Angelina getting her baps out to an almost, but not quite, tiresome degree -- the film you want is Gia not Mr & Mrs Smith. In Mr & Mrs Smith you do get to see Ms Jolie in a charming, and rather lovely, SM/fetish outfit.
The best of the Bring It On films is the first one (called, simply, Bring It On) -- which has both Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku leaping about in cheerleader outfits.

Tristan and Isolde.
it reminded me of that movie, First Knight, with Sean Connery and Richard Gere - but much better, with more beautiful costumes and scenery.
Tristan annoyed me though. Okay, we got it, his heart was broken and what not, but there are other ways to express a broken heart other than looking as if he constantly had to throw up. Unless that really was so, of course, but I think not.

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
I notice that it was scripted by Brian Clemens -- the mastermind of The Avengers. The part of the girl (well, all of the parts of the girl) was/were played by Caroline Munro whom a few of you may remember from the Lamb's Rum adverts.
As just a whiff of gossip -- Caroline Munro didn't appear in many films, but the other one that comes to mind is Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter. Captain Kronos was co-produced, directed and scripted by Brian Clemens. Not that I'm implying any non-professional connection between Ms Munro and Mr Clemens. It just makes me wonder.
I wonder whether Ms Munro ever appeared in The Avengers.

Having been reminded of it by this, I watched Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter last night. I've had the DVD for ages, but hadn't previously watched it. (And I missed it at the cinema, too.) I enjoyed it, although (for whatever reason) some of the dialogue reminded my housemate of Hector's House. I said that the frog in Hector's House used to be a dead toad until a vampire stepped over her.
I couldn't understand why Captain Kronos left Caroline Munro behind at the end. Weird!
The reason I hadn't previous watched Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter may be that I bought it as part of a rather strange 5 DVD set. The other 4 films in the box are all very early (black and white) Hammer films (including Hammer's first two ventures into horror). Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is, of course, a very late Hammer film. If you're setting out to watch very early (black and white) Hammer films Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter is not what you want to see. But it is, in its own right, worth watching (not least for the very lovely Ms Munro).

{bangs head against wall}
Oh, good grief, not again?
Take a classic film, noted for it's dialogue and intelligent discussion of the futility of man's fight against man, and then swap it all around and change the whole tone/subject/story/pace of it all.....but keep the name. Why?! The original was a true one-off, with a lot set in the same location and a focus on one alien and one robot, leading to a tense stand off.

from wiki...so you know it's probably wrong...
but do any of these sound familiar...
Music
1969: The American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creedence_Clearwater_Revival) named their concert touring operation Gort Functions, Co. after the robot in the band's favorite science fiction film. Their bright yellow and black company logo with the likeness of Gort and the words "Klaatu Barada Nikkto" was seen on all of the band's equipment, as well as on their Lear jet wing tip tanks. Gort also made a miniature cameo appearance on the cover of the band's final studio album, Mardi Gras (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardi_Gras_%28album%29).
1972: On the album School's Out (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School%27s_Out_%28album%29) by Alice Cooper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Cooper) the words are uttered at the end of the song "My Stars."
1974: While the line itself is not used, Ringo Starr (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringo_Starr) appears dressed as Klaatu coming out of his ship on the cover of Goodnight Vienna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodnight_Vienna).
1976: A group of Canadian session musicians called "Klaatu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaatu_%28band%29)" releases their first album. The following year, a journalist starts the rumor that the band is actually The Beatles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles) reunited under an assumed name.[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaatu_barada_nikto#cite_note-11)
1991: the song "Come In Piece" was released by Doubting Thomas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubting_Thomas_%28Canadian_band%29) on their album The Infidel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Infidel). It contains samples (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_%28music%29) from the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, also the one from the scene where "klaatu barada nikto" is first spoken.
In the song "Rescue Me" by Bryan Ferry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryan_Ferry) on his album Taxi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxi_%28album%29). It contains samples (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampling_%28music%29) from the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still.
In the end of the song HMH2 (Horror Movie Hero 2) by the Pirate Band The Jolly Rogers on their album Cutlass, Cannon and Curves
Dead To Fall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_To_Fall) release their 4th full length album Are You Serious? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Are_You_Serious%3F), which features a track called "The Future" about a man who goes into the future to save the world from a mechanical takeover. He wins the battle in the future by saying, "Klattu Anauj I Ram Barada Om Nikto." In reward, the man has an orb shoved into his head by the Mayor of the Future which contains the song "The Future" itself. The man takes this song back to the present time for all to enjoy.
2003: Belgium industrial band This Morn' Omina (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Morn%27_Omina) uses the sample "klaatu barada nikto" in their song "The Immutable Sphere".I'd say it's probably that one in red...

"Requiem For A Dream" scarred me in such a way that it took a day or so to recover. I truly can't bring myself to watch it more than once every year or so.
I've just watched "The Fountain" and still have the remnants of tears on my cheeks. I've not cried so much during a film for a very long time. Oh my goodness, what a thing. I don't know if I understood it all but in a way I really don't care - it just is what it is and all the more beautiful for it. Extraordinary..........
I watched Napoleon Dynamite lastnight.....really funny in a dry and weird kind of way.

Comes from the director who made Oldboy and Lady vengance, But you could not get a MORE different film
If I had to compare this film, it would probably be one flew over the cuckoo's nest with a slight twist of the terminator
It is mostly a rom com about finding yourself though. If you liked eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, you'll like this
Only two thing slightly let it down: subtitles sometimes moved too fast, and it has a rather confusing ending. other than that, great film, with some hilarious moments!
Had an anime rush lately:
- The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (brilliant - 9/10 for me)

An American indie film about two misanthropes seeking their true loves on New Year's Eve. They end up meeting on a blind date and wander about LA before........well, see it. It's a lovely little film. A lot like "Before Sunrise" but it has its own character and charm (and crude bits!).
Oh, and the character of Vivian is played by Sara Simmonds, who is absolutely stunning.:)

For some reason I realised I'd not watched something, even though I'd had it for ages:-

What a head fuck. It's just finished and my head is still in the film. Hard to explain but I now feel like I'm dreaming and my brain feels really messed up. Rewak, did you get that happening too? You just get pulled along and as fast as you're trying to make sense of it there's something else that comes along to take you again.
The scene where he has Paprika pinned like a butterfly and then his hand does what it does.........well, that's got to be one of the most disturbing 30secs I've seen in ages. Truly screwed up how sexualised he makes it seem.
{Shudders}

I did notice "Millennium Actress" & "Perfect Blue" in the cinema hoardings towards the end though - that was pretty cool. The mixture of 2D and 3D is the most seamless I've seen yet and I think I'll try and find the soundtrack too. Unfortunately, though, I think this will become like "Requiem For A Dream" and be a film I absolutely adore but can't watch very often. I think it would be too much for me......
Oh good. Now another film I've got to add to the watch list. There's too many already!
Recent...
Oldboy - Was crap
Hellboy - Was okay
The Incredibles - Was rather good
Howls Moving Castle - Was excellent
Silent Hill - Was good
Ong Bak - Was very good
Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy - Was good
And there's so much more I have to watch!

The Dark Knight
:(
good parts...Heath was...a good Joker...is he better than Jack Nicholson's Joker...I'll say...different...as they are not really playing the same character...I'll say he's as good as, not better, not worse...just different.
Harvey Dent was the best thing about this film for me...great effects :)
the film has a pretty decent opening sequence (it's the 6 minute preview that was part of the Blu Ray "Begins" release, but after that it starts to get a little...sloppy...which I have to say (even though I've not been that eager about the film since "Begins") I wasn't expecting it to be so...badly edited in places...there are a lot of points I'd like to put in here, but I don't want to spoil the film for others...so I'll just say...you should notice the bits I mean.
then there's the "Bat" voice...what in the fuck are these people doing...why did they make Batman sound like he's auditioning for a spot in WWE or Gladiators...just speak normally for fuck sake...you're already in the Batsuit...
the choice of Maggie Gyllenhaal to play Rachel Dawes just doesn't work either...not that Katie Holmes was any better...if they couldn't get Katie to play her, they just shouldn't have bothered...though...it would have been a slightly different storyline.
then we go back to Heath...most of his parts are in the trailers...so...there really isn't that much more of him...though I will say his scenes are in the better category for this film...along with Harvey Dent (to Gordon "what was that name, that you all had for me?")
I really do not know why people have said that this is a perfect film...and I really...honestly and whole heartedly disagree.
like I said, there are some great things about the film Harvey Dent being the best thing (for me anyway)
oh yeah...and the 2 hours and 30 minute length of the film has a lot to do with that...and also the pacing...the bad bits far outweigh the good in this film.

I totally agree. As much as I liked Virgin Suicides and Marie-Antoinette which were both directed by Sofia Coppola, I must admit they are movies which are essentially based on the photography (brilliant by the way). Sometimes I have the impression the story (which fits in a couple of lines) is only an excuse for casting beautiful yet pointless images. Her movies never lead you to any discussion nor reflexion: you just watch them and period!

The Beat That My Heart Skipped or De battre mon coeur s'est arrêté
This one knocked me out. Where have I been? I need to do some serious catching up. Romain Duris? Wow. Just wow. What an indelible performance. Such heat, such intensity. So wildly unpredictable. I don't think he has an equal in the American cinema outside of the late Heath Ledger. Next weekend, I'm definitely catching one of his other films. Dans Paris, perhaps?
We'll just try and forget that I got dragged to Mama Mia this weekend after all showings of The Dark Knight were found to be sold out. Mama Mia was even worse than I thought it would be. Beyond contrived. Why did this need to be made into a movie? Thanks, Tom Hanks!

Just back from it myself, and i have to agree with you there. Actually i think i agree with everything you just said. It's far from perfect. I mean, what the feck is it doing at #1 on imdb? There was some really great scenes in there, but it's far too long. Saw wall.e the week before and i do think it's a better film.
Much more unique than the dark knight anyway.

yeah Waaaaaaaal Eeeee is good...but...also overlong...there was a space in it where I just thought..."how are kids going to enjoy this..." there were some really funny parts in it...there just seems to be something lacking from most of the recent films I've seen...I guess the "they don't make em like they used to" line can be used here...
and is very fitting for Dark Knight...they should have chosen a villain...and not had both of them...though the making of a villain is perfectly fine...if you are going to continue that villain in a future installment...which...well......meh
****slight spoiler****
(I just left feeling like..."well...now you can't use either of them villains...one is dead...and the other is...er...dead")
I also have to say this, the Watchmen trailer did not look as good on a big cinema screen as it did on my little old PC screen...not sure why...as it looked great here...but then it did follow on from Hellboy...:(
and on the IMDB #1 rating, that's only due to people giving it a 10 before actually watching it...and the number of votes it has at the moment...as the #1 film before it (The Shawshank Redemption) which I will not disagree with as it for me is a perfect film...though best of all time...well...no one will ever agree on that...anyway where was I? oh yes...votes...2nd film has about 347,115 votes with a 9.1 average, whereas Dark Knight has a 9.3 average with only 146,180 votes...that will come down, once more and more people see it...and give it the score it deserves...2...one each for both the Joker and Harvey Dent...

*cough*
Excuse me ? (I apologize in advance for the following comment, it's just that I am an extremely big admirer of Sofia Coppola)
First off : all films have plots that are easy to tell in a couple of lines. If they don't, nobody will get them anyway! (Warning! I'm in film school, so I know these things ;))
Secondly, I agree on what you say about the photography, though I hardly think that's the only thing that's special about the films.
Just look at all the main characters, they're all girls/women with psychological issues. Her films are much more about internal than external conflicts (so you don't get flaming action scenes), but still, there is a lot going on!
Maybe you're just missing that ?
I'm guessing you've seen "Lost in Translation" ?
You've got to admit, that's a brilliant film ?!
Okay, there are no zillion plot changes, or big surprises, but the dialogues are great and the whole story is just incredibly human and realistic.
It's a good thing you ended the way you ended, or I would have caught the first train to Brussels and forced you into an hour long discussion on the matter :D
Btw - the fact that we're discussing about it, proves that her films DO lead to discussion and reflexion...

I wish I'd done that, as I'd forgotten one or two details from the first film. Not that it mattered much.
The Dark Knight was engrossing (for the most part) and loaded with good ideas but I can't help feeling that Christopher Nolan has rather overegged it somewhat and squeezed one and a half films in to the running time. The Harvey Dent story, after his rescue, could have been expanded more in a follow up film I think.
So, a good film, but frustrating.

I can honestly say that nothing you've seen in film before could ever prepare you for that. Not even close.
Two and a half hours long with no more than about a dozen sentences spoken at about 80mins. Things happen, odd things, things that seemingly are exactly what they need to be and you never doubt for a second that they are leading towards something. As it goes on patterns and rituals repeat and keep appearing in different places. Again, you get this bizarre but intuitive feeling that it's all needed and leading you somewhere............and oh my god. It certainly does.
I've not seen anything so visceral and horrific, yet somehow beautiful, pretty much ever. I sat and once I realised what they were doing to each other I said "Oh my god....no" out loud. It's done in such a way that you just can't look away. There's a long extended period of Noh singing as the soundtrack and you sit and watch.
I was going to type stuff about how beautiful Bjork is in it, how amazing the music sounds stretched and added to over the 150mins but I really can't right now. My brain is just overloaded by what it's all about and what it built towards.
As I say, you've not seen anything like this. Trust me.

I'm watching a Lifetime Family movie, torn from the pages of the news, about this girl who gets bullied by other girls in her high school. They make EVIL MySpace pages about her. OMG!

Going to watch Hannibal again right now.
I need to see some evil men die, for a change.
I have to say i hated that movie...
Just LOOK at the oscar speech (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=qx8yLvb0gZM)....
"make art, make art!"
criiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinge
Sorry? What's wrong with the oscar-speech?
That movie wasn't made to win oscars.
They we're obviuously rather surprised to win it.
I think they were one of the few people that didn't came across as 'fakes' when accepting the oscar.
Hating that movie must be a matter of taste.
I love it. I can relate to a lot in that movie.

Having re-read what I typed last night about "Drawing Restraint 9" I'd still stand by it. It was quite something. Only thing I should have done was said what was so bizarre/shocking to cause the reaction.
As some of you hate spoilers (and knowing this is coming would spoil it) and some of you will be having some food while reading this I'll do it as a tiny font made to blend in with the background - drag your cursor over it to read. If you quote it this will be removed so watch out. If you're a fan of Bjork it's quite a shocking thing to see!
[icky spoilers]
The film is all about the two main characters, Matthew Barney & Bjork, meeting and transforming themselves into whales as part of a bizarre ceremony. As part of this they take a knife each and, while part submerged in liquid Vaseline, start to cut into each others legs. Big by bit they hack away until sinew and muscle are exposed, part of which they pull from the back of each others thigh and feed to each other raw. It's done in an almost erotic way too, which just feels so weird. The Vaseline gradually gets coloured with blood. This continues until they pull the bones out of their partners legs (it's horribly realistic) to leave floppy skin which they hack off to leave their bodies down to the waist. Then, from this, a whales tail grows and in one of the final shots you see two tiny figures swimming away from the ship.

Now you've seen it, Carpy, imagine seeing THAT on a big screen...
I did, a year ago.
It was shown at this exhibition about video-art, but the kind of video-art that's actually more like feature film, instead of handycam DV stuff.
I saw some cool things (Bill Viola and Pippilotti Rist) and then I saw this.
Bloody hell !(yes, you can take that literally)
I still don't know what to think of it - as it's one of those films that gives you all different sensations/emotions/reactions at once.
You want to look, yet you don't want to see what's happening.
The music is very very scary, yet it's one of the most beautiful things you've heard.
And Björk...
*sigh*
She looks so incredibly gorgeous, yet also incredibly "out of this world" - as if you're looking at someone from a different planet.
Mixed feelings, yet feelings.
I don't even know if I'd recommend it - you really need to be "into" these kind of things to be able to sit it through.
