Fondue Knights (Live) - Goldfrapp
A fondue knight
On a winters day
I do in snow
In summer rain
Don't let it go
Don't blow away
This could so sweet
On a different day
Those umbrellas in the sea
And they tremble like a distant star
They are for plays
Waiting for you
Feel so small
Underneath this sky
This dirty pornstar
Isnt big enough
Don't let it go
Don't blow away
This could be so sweet
On a different day
Those umbrellas in the sea
And they tremble like a distant star
They are folding
Just for you

Wow, you`re all listening to some super stuff today! I`ve been putting some All About Eve on my IPod recently, I seem to like them even more now than I did in the 1980s (and I LOVED them then). "The Red Shoes" is a flawed album, but it certainly has its "moments" as you say. I haven`t listened to it in its entirety since 1996, which at first only seemed like a few years ago but it`s actually 11 years ago   . I also love that Selecters track, that and "Missing Words" are all I know of them though. Listening to a lot of Enya is a bit like eating mashed potato constantly - after a while it starts to get a bit samey - but now and then she can really blast your brain with beauty, like "River" and "Only If"
I`m currently listening to
The Sisters Of Mercy - "First And Last And Archive"
sent to me by that lovely man in the North East :) and it`s wonderful. Like the Future/Human League album, it`s giving me a glimpse of a Sisters I didn`t know. It`s been such a magical experience, listening to all this brilliant stuff. I can`t thank him enough, once Corvina`s finished with his body on the boat! ;)

Snap!
Arrived in the post this morning - great isn't it? There's some stop tunage on there to be sure - still think Get Innocuous and North American Scum are two of the best but love Sound Of Silver (the track) alot, and also New York I love you.
Also really love Someone great, but I prefered the original instrumental version as part of the Nike Run download.

Currently listening to the five tracks leaked from NIN's "Year Zero" so far. Also reading loads of reviews from fans who have been to 'listening parties' in the US, and also some of the press ones starting to get published online.
Combined with what I've heard from it, things like this.....
almost every sound you hear on the album has been chopped, ripped, pulled, flayed, destroyed, flattened, squeezed or smashed beneath the massive, ominous bit-mapping of Reznor and co-producer Atticus Ross. Sixty-four minutes of disorienting, pummeling Sturm und Drang roiling atop a rumbling, certifiably bone-chilling layer of white noise that recalls the wind whipping through a war zone......are getting me rather moist* for this album.

My idiot neighbor. He likes to take his idiotic phone conversations out in his back yard. Since we all live up each others rear-ends here in the Cal-Burbs(tm), this means I can hear every word when the jets that fly 300ft above my roof on the way to Oakland Int'l or Hayward airport aren't roaring away. He sounds like a total sanctimonious neomaxizoomdweebie. SHADDUP YOU DWEEB!!!

Bjork's Family Tree dealie.. I must say that this thing was packaged so uniquely.. when I first got it I'd just sit and look through it for hours while listening to it. :p I had lost it for a while and just when I had given up, I found it! I'm in love again.

How I love Tangerine Dream! All I have is a crackly cassette with about five songs on in my desk at work, I don`t even know what the titles are, it just says "Tangerine Dream" on it in my friend`s spidery handwriting. But they are all great tracks.
At the moment listening to Covenant - "Dead Stars" to wake me up.

That`s my favourite track. I must admit there are several tracks on the album that are easily as good as the older stuff, but why on earth they picked "Ruby" as the first single is beyond my comprehension. It`s the worst track, so turgid and nasty, UGH!

Properly loud, I think it's fair to say. It's a Swiss band that has a live drummer but all other things are sampled then re-sequenced - right down to the guitars etc ! It is rather groovy but quite loud - best nab a track or two from <insert fave finding place> and see what you think !
