With all the stuff bubbling up on the NINternet right now I slung on "With Teeth" for the first time in ages.
As I remembered it's ok, but the three new leaked tracks are all better than the best tracks on that, except for maybe the original version of Only. WT just sounded rhythmically like trying to be an angry version of the DFA which doesn't quite work for the most part.
I thought that was right but sometimes memory has a revisionist take of what you've previously heard. In this case, though, it was right and Y0 is shaping up to be a real career saver for gool ol' JockTrent and an album I'm getting a bit rabid for.

There's been a lot of this - in either direction - going on at the moment. I think it's very easy to go a bit loopy on a bands new album and almost go out the other side of interest after hitting it too much in a space of time.
I purposely put the brakes on with all Goldfrapp listening at the moment, even the older stuff and have consciously avoided them for the last week or four - I was really hitting overkill after going through the albums and mixes and bootlegs and whatever. You need that bit of distance in order to come back afresh.
It's surprising how much better things sound on a second life further down the line.......

Wasn`t he in that band, The Bible? I have one of their 7-inch singles, "Graceland", somewhere. It`s really good. Brings back being 16 years old in almost total recall, when Manchester wasn`t full of shitty glass skyscrapers.
That be the guy. If you check out his website you'll be shocked at the variety of artists he's written for. Hits from Eddie Reader to Fame Academy rejects. He just loves writing.
I seriously reccomend seeing him live. He has an amazing voice and is VERY funny. Aswell as being a very friendly guy he'll genuinely chat to you for hours (i didn't even mind the fact he flirted with my girlfiend - thats how cool he is:) ).
I saw him play a gig to 40 people in a cafe in Torquay. He can't need the money considering who he writes for so he must just love performing. He put a few Bible numbers in, Graceland is a corker live but we made him do Honey Be Good!
He also co-wrote and produced the Hadfis Huld album and wrote a folk cahrt number one all in the last few months.

Shuffling footsteps in the hall. There`s no-one else in, I`m on my own. I`m not imagining it, they come at (roughly) 15-second intervals. I`ve already been and looked, there`s nobody there.
