He said he was inspired to comeback in part by hearing Kevin Federline rippoff a tune of his for one of his crap raps.
Turn around, look at what you see
In her face, the mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere, living in your eyes
Written on the pages is the answer to our neverending story
Reach the stars, fly a fantasy
Dream a dream, and what you see will be
Lives that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon the rainbow is the answer to our neverending story
Show no fear, for she may fade away
In your hand, the birth of a new day
Lives that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon the rainbow is the answer to our neverending story

I have a similar conversion experience. Goldfrapp fans were the 'gateway drug' to a serious 'Tron facination. Getting LaunchCast and hunting them out to get them added to my fave list helped, too.
When I was young and severly stupid I never saw the point of registering on a band forum.
But I was severly wrong. New awesome bands and many, many MP3s of additional band work and great community? yes plz.

Musical Law #17 in a series of 26: "The Bauhaus Movement Effect"
It has been proved, during a number of non-scientific experiments both in the home and in public venues, that it is impossible to listen to Bauhaus tracks without some form of bodily movement (including arm flailing and leg kicking) taking place.[/quote]To be honest, even the thought of things like "Kick In The Eye" or "Terror Couple Kill Colonel" make me want to start chicken dancing :D

"Terror Couple...." is ace - I love the way it drops out after "Terror couple kill Colonel...in his West German home..........." and you're just left with bare guitar picks and chimes. Total genius all round.
'Chicken Dancing' (an actual term from the time) was also sparked off by most of The Cult and 'Welcome to the Monkey House' by Animal Magnet. In the goth room at our local "alternative discotheque" there was this great dance that I picked up where you kind of wander forward with your arms out, and then wander backwards, speeding up according to the music. Arm/elbow movements are crucial, particularly for "Temple Of Love" by the Sisters Of Mercy, when everyone seems to RUSH forward and splay their arms to the sky! Being a goth is proper great.

Animal Magnet
"Welcome To The Monkey House (extended) (http://download.yousendit.com/58141312134AE7B1)"
One of the biggies taken from the soundtrack to my younger days. Heard on many occasions at insane volume in places like The Fridge* and other alternative clubs back that I frequented in the 80's. Usually sandwiched inbetween things like "Temple of Love", "Blue Monday", "She Sells Sanctuary" etc etc.
It's all Pepe le Pig's fault with his 'dancing around' mentions in this very thread previously. Got me digging it out from t'internet. You better grab this and let me know if it has the desired effect on your limbs, PP !
Banshee-esque guitar chimes, a hard synth bass run & live, almost samba, drumming all holding up a shout along chorus. All bases covered and cranked to 11. Who could want more after a heap of rough booze on a student night out ! :D
* There was a fridge in the middle of the dancefloor. So 80's alt that it hurts, non ?

Oh wow this is AMAZING! They never played this in the goth room at Jilly`s after all - this is CLASS! There`s something almost cartoonish about it with the daft noises, but the overall effect is definitely pale skin and red lippy applied by Lol Tolhurst! The guitar reminds me of "Swimming Horses" as well (always a good thing)
SO many thanks! And you distracted me from getting "So Macho" thank goodness. (for at least two more days, I just KNOW I`ll succumb)

It's like a distillation of everything that was around in the clubs at the time - the goth guitar, the big synth bass, a slidey fretless bass, the drumming, the shout/sing-along lyrics....but all cranked up to silly levels in one 5min hit.
I'll warn you - it's infectious and will burrow deep into your brain !! :D

I loveeeeeeeee Welcome To The Monkey House !!! Reminds me I was supposed to send it to someone recently and I cannot remember who it was now - doh !

It's weird - I've always loved CAN for as long as I can remember but, for goodness knows what reason, had never investigated people like Faust - even though it was obvious to have done so.
Along comes Corvina with a clutch of Faust cd's and I still wasn't convinced. Then, travelling down home before Christmas on the train, it all clicked. Bang. Total genius finally realised and now I love everything I've tried by there pretty much without exception.
Now it's the turn of NEU! and we'll see where that leads ! :D

"I've Lost My Vision (Kraut Nr1)"
After spending the last couple of days indulging in Krautrock tracks from about '71 - '75 this track from the latter end of 2006 makes complete sense. Aside from the couple of mins of vocal embedded in the 11min run this really is pure Motorik spaced-out groove and very much worthy of their bracketed descriptor in the title.

hehehe don`t worry it was on the radio, it wasn`t a personal choice! Although at the time there was a "radio version" of this that was radically different, and rather good too, very house-y and repetitive in a good way - but they ALWAYS play the original now, which isn`t half as good.
