Just did a search and realised I was the first person to use the word 'dubstep' on here ! So here's a track for your delectation.......

Skream - "Dubbers Anonymous" (http://download.yousendit.com/CCC7931417D24DD6)

If you don't know (any many of you overseas especially may not) dubstep is where dark jungle, heavy dub, electronica and instrumental grime meet. It's brooding and urban, but often has that spacey vibe that classic old-school dub had. Oh, and no annoying rappers either - that's a very good thing !

If you have a system with a sub-bass you'd better hold on to your pets and tape down fragile ornaments !

Funny how musical trends come round.

Everybody is talking like this stuff is new as whatever but, as far as I can see Dubstep is just deep, old school dub, some skanking brass, some broody electronics and a bass line to disrupt your pets kidneys. Part dub and part rave, but instrumental and atmospheric.

Either way, it's bloody good stuff ! :D

Amy Winehouse - "Back To Black"

I love it when people write songs about situations you`ve been in, right to the letter. Being dumped by someone so they can go back to their ex makes you feel so USELESS. And this is fantastic, like a "Memphis Sessions" dark-night-of-the-soul moment. I think I`ll have to buy this album.

One of my workmates bought the album and keeps putting it on, and I really like it. I love the kind of 60s sound it has to it. And it wipes away the memory of her performance on Charlotte Church's show!

Right now we've got ‘Jump’ by Madonna on.

It is a lot more Motowny-sounding (although in a way I'd say it sounds more like Julie London or something) than her last album I'd say, but I haven't found it annoying at all.

The album will grow on you even more, even the weird little rants "I'm Coming To Get You" makes sense - in its context. "Welcome to MU world, bitch!" brilliant.

Now go out and try to get your hands on Afro Finger & Gel. I'll give you a sample of it if you wish.

Orchestra of Bubbles

Finally listening to this !

Odd thing is that it doesn't really sound like either of them but something totally different again. It's not as tech & glitchy as Apparats normal stuff and not as Berlin as Alliens either.

What it does sound like though I like rather a lot - many of the tracks remind me of somewhere between the techno end of System7 (or 777 for you US folks) and the best part of the Border Community label. There's a heap of parts that are positively Holden-esque, which obviously pleases me greatly !

As Stephanie rightly said back previously {waves hand in a 'back there' style} there are many on here liable to like this. Give it a go. :)

Bizarre. Imagine progressive trance, breaks, a full orchestra and a full band all playing together.

It's big, it's varied and it's very groovy !

Limited gubbins, what a top phrase! I made a beeline for "limited gubbins" in the late 80s. I had a Siouxsie And The Banshees single with a gilded sleeve, another one in clear vinyl with the lyrics on the sleeve ("The Killing Jar", that was, and it had a really weird but quite pleasant smell too) and my favourite, The Darling Buds - "Hit The Ground" which came in a fabby cloth sleeve with mad psychedelic dots and flowers on it!

Run like hell: Pink Floyd

i was playng that today!!!!!

Very Strict Machine by Bruce for like the 100th time since i downloaded it!

 :o ;)

today been listening to "cream BBC session tapes", blindin!!

just 10 mins ago, listening and watching tiptoe MTV german performance.
man, that just makes me almost cry, its so beautiful.
i was saying to the wife " doenst that just sound superb!! the violins and the synth tones are 100% deep moving sounds""
i think its james bond type sexyness with the violins, and the big chorusy synth tones are massive.
perhaps its just me(i doubt it..)

i realy love this track...
i D/loaded it from the goldfrapp fans site, thats listed on halloween jack brilliant site,
the link fron there is something like.. goldfrapp.free.fr

has excellent downloadable performances from lots of different live shows!!

man i love live goldfrapp in every way:) :) :) :) :) :)

"Brian Wilson" by The Barenaked Ladies?

It`s a bit of a cheat, that, it would have been better if it was just "Brian" but nevertheless it`s out there!

I`m spoilt really, cos I`ve got Joni Mitchell`s "The Last Time I Saw Richard" which is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Inspired by Kiyuri, here's one back at him.

I'm listening to:-

What fine judgement I see
in the eyes of our world leaders
Oh how beautiful life could be
if it hadn't been shot to pieces
Shot to pieces
What secret music do I hear
upon the drums of my ear
What great pleasure I feel
I come from nowhere and I shall return
Because of you people I will flee
I see my late identity burn

Mine, you'll note, is easier than yours was, Kiyuri :D

Take a girl like that (take a girl)
And put her in a natural setting (it`s so natural)
Like a cafe, for example (in a cafe)
Along comes the boy (along comes the boy)
And he`s looking for trouble
With a girl like that (with a girl like that)
Who knows what they`ll decide to do?
Who knows what they`ll get up to?
I`d love to know
Wouldn`t you?

Any guesses, anyone?
I don`t know yours Carpy, I was going to cheat and type the lyrics into AltaVista but that`s SOOOO dishonest ;)
