Peppermintpig, I see you and your little Warm Leatherette sig! Did you ever read the book that Mr. Miller got his inspiration of that song from, "Crash" (J.G. Ballard)? Screwed up but good!
Ooooh, that`s something I need to get hold of! Didn`t they make a film of it as well? Thanks for the tip-off!
I love that record. Every time they play it at Rockworld the kids in there all hassle the DJ saying "What was that you just played, it was great!"
The Smiths - "Still Ill" is on at the mo.

You're welcome :), but the film was not as nearly as good as the book I thought. Here's the info for the film Crash (http://www.amazon.com/Crash-Holly-Hunter/dp/6305161968/sr=8-4/qid=1160840089/ref=pd_bbs_4/102-0967084-4900929?ie=UTF8&s=dvd)

That's on Downside Up isn't it, the B-sides collection? I love Siouxsie. Can't wait for the solo album she's supposed to be doing. I got sent a copy of the Marie-Antoinette soundtrack at work and there's a really cool version of ‘Hong Kong Garden’ on it (from the ball scene), where it starts out orchestral and then the original version kicks in. Brilliant!

Yes it is on Downside Up. It`s also on the 12-inch single of "Cities In Dust" (I think) and on some versions of the "Tinderbox" album. I`d LOVE to hear the orchestral Hong Kong Garden! :D :D :D Ooh and thanks for the news about Siouxsie`s solo album, I must go off and find out if anything`s happening. MCR - The Black Parade (Album) Its great so far!
The first minute or so of The Black Parade (the song) is really good. I had high hopes. I thought maybe they wouldn't be shite this time round.
They promptly proved me wrong.

I don't swear much on here, but I have to say that this EP is fucking genius......

To follow that last thing I'm now watching a video of Steindór performing 'hugann seiőa svalli frá' with sigur rós at the small pub across the street from the band's studio in álafoss.
Sometimes, as with Bjork, I swear the Icelandic language is the future of music.
just saw you had dresden dolls! Impressed! Love them...so much..so very very very very much!
Me too!
How big are they though?
I mean that popularity wise.
I know a load of people who love them, but I also know loads who've never even heard of them.
I guess they are a bit of a marmite band though :D
The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control
I like The Gossip, I've only just started to listen to them though.
Rather impressive vocals :D

"hugann seiđa svalli frá"
from the rímur ep
This is the full version of the track that opens the 'Screaming Masterpiece' music documentary and also the track that got me into Steindór in the first place.
If this track doesn't get to you then there's no blood running through your musical heart.....

"The Rise of the Pentagram"
one dark afternoon like a shadow i flew
through the rain that fell sick with lament
to this house of incest for when we undressed
blasphemies against venus were rent
though her sister removed, her wet body approved
the parade of my heavenly quests
yet all tongues are not true, some are forked or askew
like an uncivil serpent's at best
for ousted from eden i fousted all reason
hooking mouth like saint peter pan
to haunt faery groves and hot virgin coves
wherein the promiscuous swam
i elected lovers and rejected others
mephistresses that don't give a damn...
but in those that still do my deep interest grew
the rise of the true pentagram!

Like a living, breathing glitch-tech creature that morphs and shifts, throwing out movements and noises that make you go "Ooooooh!". Only the synapses in your brain will be able to dance to this - think Seefeel meets Aphex meets Boards of Canada meets Herbert....then think trying to nail it down is very silly.
Though only 40-odd mins and a pre-cursor to the 'real' album next year this is really rather wonderful and cements my dance/electronica label for 2006 very firmly as Border Community (http://www.bordercommunity.com/). Not one dud release on that imprint and now this to close the year off.
Astounding.
