See I like the Strokes but never their albums. What I would want to do would be to take like 4 songs off each album and make a really good one.
The technology does exist.
Juicebox was a fantastic single though love it.
Yeah, that's a great song.
I'm listening to:

Not ready Yet - Eels
Ha ha. That reminded me of the song at the end of the Brass Eye Paedophilia special sang by all the kids called 'Not Ready Yet'
"Not today, not tomorrow, but maybe the day after that"
Anyway, I'm listening to
Money Mark - Mark's Keyboard Repair
Ha ha. That reminded me of the song at the end of the Brass Eye Paedophilia special sang by all the kids called 'Not Ready Yet'

They were really big at the time though weren't they? Or maybe because it was hyped around when I first started to buy the NME. Makes me think of Terris and Campag Velocet as well.

Well, their backlash was always going to happen as Cliffe Jones (singer/songwriter) was an ex NME journalist, clever self publicist and all round big mouth. He didn't know when to shut up and you didn't mess with the NME in those days. Add to that the british 'pubic' hate a clever dick. It may have been one of those cases where the name killed the band as they weren't never taken seriously. But they were off the map as soon as the 3 single was released.
It's a shame as the first album is great. Add to that a great name and a great Peter Saville cover (i so remember seeing all those fly posters when they came out). It was also one of the first modern electro/glam/pop records. Now everybody is picking up those 70's references ...including mssers Frapp.

If you like HB's you should look out for an album by a band called Darling. The band was a pet project Jim Abbiss, very famous for twiddling some very famous bands knobs, and was called Initiation.
It was released in 2000 and criminally overlooked. It had a couple of killer tracks on it and had that same great guitar and sultry female vocals on it, which we just don't get enough off these days.

The limit is 40 minutes I think, and Blue Room makes 38.
I'm surprised no one else has pushed for longer singles. There should be more!

Too long to be a single, too short to be an Album.
I disagree. It can be the length of a single, but with unlike a single isn't completely weighted to one song.
I like EP's, in general.:)
I always saw an EP as a collection of songs, too small to be an album, a kind of "sample" album if you will
I disagree. It can be the length of a single, but with unlike a single isn't completely weighted to one song.

Well it's not really a single, since they have two songs, and it's more of a mini-album than a full album.
Unless your albums are by pink floyd or something and have 5 tracks.

Well it's not really a single, since they have two songs,
I have some singles with about eight songs on them. EP's haven't just existed since the chart rules have changed!
Charts are silly. And bands keep releasing songs on EPs you'd never find unless you bought them.

To save typing again, here's a self-quote from earlier:-
Take the original and turn the dial marked "slinky and sensual" up to 12 and bathe in city neon. Add a second vocal and stir....yourself.......until done.
Yep, it's another listen for:-
Goldfrapp "Let It Take You (R*A's Remix)"

Today, I bought a hard covered book called Bordello - photographs by Vee Speers. It comes with 4 x 20 track CDs of French Chansons. I'm currently listening to CD2. It cost £17.99 - not a bad deal, I think, if you're interested in photographs from Paris bordellos - and enjoy music to match.

You really won't have ever seen a frontwoman like KatieJane Garside - equal parts coquettish shyness, tangible psychosis and egg-shell vulnerability....and able to switch to a roar or a whisper at the drop of a torn lacy dress.
