Spooky - I posted the fact I was listening to that BEFORE coming back down the thread and seeing this !
It seems that The Circus has us both in it's grasp !!
  That`s even scarier than the record
That monologue about the drug and the clown IS total genius - I only heard it for the first time about nine or ten years ago in a pitch-dark bedsit (I think early Human League was made for pitch-dark bedsits) and I never forgot it *shivers*
Apparently there`s two tracks on "The Future Tapes" which have no name. It`s a mystery wrapped up in an enigma!
An EXPENSIVE enigma
Carpy - I`ll ask my brother - he works in a rare record shop, and he`s found more obscure things than this for me before now. AND he can save it for you! I`ll let him know this afternoon.
*presses buttons furiously*
Human League - "Being Boiled (Holiday 80 version)"

Blur - Tender aw i forgot how cute this song was
I usually get ribbed as lots of what I listen to has female vocals :D
So, look at Cocteau Twins, Camille, Goldfrapp, Be Your Own Pet, The Slits, there's loads more, but I can't think right now.
Unless you're meaning the likes of J Lo or Sally's fave, Steps (I don't know many pop groups)
In which case you deserve a good slap :D

Sounds like my workplace. We have these cutting machines that can be quite loud. It's either pump up the volume so loud that it bothers people in the front office, or get just the hint of music piercing the cloud of noise where you're at.:(

It sounds like it's been recorded in a rubbish bin. The album before it (Answering Machine Music) sounds like it was recorded in a tool box - and I've got the remastered versions! They're still dead good though.

HAhahaha...well one night after being out at a club, me and a friend were getting chased down the street by some boys from our class at uni. I don't actually remember why. Anyway my friend couldn't find her keys and we wanted to get inside before the boys caught up with us so she buzzed her neighbours flat. They were a bunch of art students having a party, getting stoned and listening to nothing but Prince records. They had pictures of him everywhere. It was one of those nights i'll never forget. We just mixed with the people and ended up playing memory games with this bearded man who claimed he had a photographic memory.

I got somethin’ to say! (what?)
I’m kinda gay! (yeah?)
I like to get paid and have sex for days (no!)
So listen up ladies
I like guyz and hate babies
If you get me real drunk
I’ll go for the junk in the trunk
You want me bigtime, I only want you minitime
But then I see Matt Dillon and I want it HUGETIME!
You open up your lips and try to seal my doom
So I make a beeline straight to the menz room
I thought you were cute
I thought your ass was fine
But then I took down your pants
And I said “NEVER MIND!!!!”
Don’t even try to play me bitch
Don’t even try to front
You think that you want dong
But I know you want wet cunt
And there you go
Bein’ all sick
Are you stupid, girl?
Of COURSE I want the dick!!!!
Stop lyin’, ho!
You know that you want it!
NO I DON’T!!!!
Yes you do! Just admit it! ADMIT IT!!!!
You made me gay, girl, you made me gay, girl!!!!
Are you gay?
HAAAAY, you made me GAY.
I thought you liked it that way!
Naw, bitch, I’m gay!
I thought you liked it that way!!!!
No, ho, I’m fucking gay!!!!
You made me gay, girl, you made me gay, girl
You ain’t gay
HAAAAY, you made me GAY.
STOP!…jockin’ me girl
Why can’t you see?
There’s a million guys
That are dyin’ to screw me
I see how it is Hunx
I don’t give you a bona
When I’m through with your ass
It will be in a coma
You have the ass
You have the titty
But there’s somethin’ in my pants
That makes me wanna go to the shitty city
But menz ain’t got no pussy
They ain’t got no vagina
I’m THROUGH with you gay boyz
Drop outta mankind-a!!!!
You got Willy Wonka up in your underwear
And I like honey cuz I’m a little bear
Well I only pursued you cuz I heard that you had girth
But now I wish yo silly momma had NEVER given birth
Go gay, girl, it’s so much better
I like the cheese, yeah, I like the cheddar
Your cock ain’t nuthin’ anyway I’d rather suck a dog off
And I’ll just use a cucumber to get my fucking rocks off
There’s so many girls and there’s so many guys
It’s hard to decide, when I like chicken thighs
You’re missing out on hot ass humps cus I spread legs like anthrax
And Kenny G type blowjobz cuz I play a mean skin sax
For today go ahead and do me that way
But I made up my mind, silly ho, I’m GAY!!!!
Well maybe I should change my ways and stick to only ladies
Cuz I hate shitty menz and I don’t want shitty babies.
What's one of them? I have a feeling I can guess, and won't like it

Scouse House is hilarious. 'Superstar' was my personal favourite.

Can't believe it's taken me so long to hear this !
Hammond breakdowns, huge Zep riffs (both crazed electric and stool-perched acoustic), Plant like soaring vocals, Sabbath-esque bass grinds and lyrics straight out of the 70's when "cool" didn't matter and singing of "drinking the wine from the serpents minds-eye" was perfectly acceptable.
Even a Jethro Tull flute solo on one track.
Class in a glass !

[I bet that posting this tempts Mr Pig to listen to the track....:D]
A crow and a baby
Had an affair
The result was a landslide
The result was a dare
The result was a baby
Who wanted it all
Moved out of the doll's house
Moved out of the hall
With one wing on the town and a gleam in an eye of red
Said My father was a crow, now I want all fathers dead
Find the fathers of this world, treat them as a fatal foe
Put them in the deepest hole, then cover the pit with snow
With one wing on the town
And a gleam in an eye of red
I'm just trying to tell you what you'll come up against
If you venture from my side, If you think you're so mature
You will end up in a field, you will be someone's manure
Mushrooms growing from your back
Feeding some damn carrion bird
Do you want to contribute
To the corruption of the world?
With one wing on the town
And a gleam in an eye of red
A crow and a baby
Had an affair
My dream was the baby
The crow was your hair
Parts of me love parts of you
That at least is obvious
Give my baby back to me
You must see it's only just
With one wing on the town
And a gleam in an eye of red
With one wing on the town
And a gleam in an eye of red
With one wing on the town
And a gleam in an eye of red

Oh, that`s one of the best albums I`ve ever heard. I bought it when I was about 15 because a lot of psychedelic indie bands at the time cited it as a great influence, and I was a bit embarrassed at the time, going in a shop and buying a Van Morrison album - till I got it home. All us teenagers on our street loved it!

One of the wonderful (and electric) things about Wonderful Electric is that it has 2 versions of Deer Stop (at Somerset House and at the Shepherds Bush Empire).

The Runaways - Born to Be Bad album.
When I say album - it's not exactly that... It's demos recorded with the original line up: Joan Jett, Micki Steele and Sandy West. Micki Steele left before they had any success (and later was one of the Bangles). Before their first album, Joan and Sandy were joined by Cherie Currie, Lita Ford and Jackie Fox. The Runaways were always kinda a raw band - but these very early demos are more than raw. Actually, there's a lot of good on Born to Be Bad - but probably not the place to start with the Runaways (in spite [or because] of its being the place where they started).

I'm really not sure what I'm listening to... It's a CD I bought this afternoon for £1.99. It's supposed to be Little Richard "Rocks" Every Hour. The first track was certainly Little Richard (Tutti frutti) but all the tracks since (I'm now on track 6) have had a woman singing. I've no idea who she is - but do not believe that she is Little Richard. Weird. It's enjoyable, though... Track 7 has started - another female vocal! I wonder whether anyone on the board knows anything about this CD.

Scott Walker
"Clara" from 'The Drift'
As mentioned in a post back there (points back in the thread a bit) this album is almost impenetrable yet totally compelling. Anybody serious about pushing and challenging themselves musically should get this. There are literally no genre reference points to compare this album too yet once it clicks with you it sounds totally as it should be - it goes from almost unlistenable to totally unforgettable.
Don't expect any musical reference points either - no verse-chorus structures, no odd middle-8's and pattern or obvious rhyme & reason. It sits in it's own place musically and even then chooses to subvert itself in the middle of some of it's own tracks - "Jolson and Jones", for example, builds tension and horror before dropping in the screaming braying of a donkey and deeply terrifying you with the surprise and the pictures it conjures up.
You won't reach for it every day or week but when you do it'll knock you over like it did on your first listen - this thing stores power.
This track, "Clara", takes as its inspiration Claretta Petacci, a woman who chose to hang (and hang) with Benito Mussolini; the 12-minute piece is cut through with audible "meat punching," hinting at the public desecration of their corpses. If you know of the history having only the sound of pig flesh being punched violently lends far too much realism to the fact. Far too much.
"This is not a terrapin...with its shell torn away.
....like what happened in America"
