I think Stephanie still has her eyes closed :)

I`m listening to that Breaks Co-op record. It`s quite pleasant, but isn`t it quite pedestrian for Radio One listeners? Or has it been adopted as a "chillout" anthem?

I`ll shortly be listening to Siouxsie Sioux presenting the John Peel show a couple of years ago. Huzzah for Ebay! :D

Edit - I didn`t know Breaks Co-op was actually Zane Lowe with two other blokes. That explains the fact it`s been on the Moyles creature`s show, Jo Whiley and probably on Colin and Edith at some point.

Get 'American IV: The Man Comes Around' - I know its the last one he ever did but as an album its probably the best thing he ever did. Rick Rubin's production of it is fantastic. You can pretty much comprehensviely cover the older stuff with one of the thousands of cheap 3CD sets that are knocking around (in Britain anyway) - but don't buy anything with 'Jackson' on it, because it will be stuck in your head for the rest of your life.

There's a double CD of his early Sun recordings available - I recommend that. If you're into such music, I also recommend a modestly priced 4 CD set called From Boppin' Hillbilly to Red Hot Rockabilly issued by Proper Records.

Love that song - it's on the Papa don't Preach 12" I think. How about Supernatural?

It was on a Papa don't preach 12" in some countries and on a first album single (I was told) in other countries. I don't like supernatural very much. I love Sidewalk Talk, where she did the chorus vocals for Jellybean (remember that one? I have both the normal version and the 12" one if you're interested).
What about 'Has To Be' I don't know why she did not put that on Ray Of Light at the end, like she did in Japan. I like that. The bubbly sounds are cool!
The weirdest one I have of hers is 'Get Up' an early demo with a band sound that sounds so un-madonna that I understand why she walked out on the project. :)

I'm pausing between records. A while back, I bought 41 CDs in one day - and then bought some more before I finished playing the 41. This morning, I played the last of my new CDs. It's so hard to choose when I have my whole CD collection to choose from.

I'm now playing Aya's A Flower in the Battlefield album. The cover is my avatar. The oblong in the bottom right hand corner in an explicit lyrics warning. I'm glad they warned me because I can't make out what the lyrics are - I suspect that most of them are in Japanese. Japanese swearing? - I'm prepared to believe it.

Depeche Mode "I Feel You" (Brian Eno "Life's Too Short mix")

Depeche Mode "I Feel You" (Brian Eno "Swamp mix")

From elsewhere on the web:-

"Happily avoiding the practice of simply including the same lead single mix on this disc, Depeche devoted the second I Feel You EP towards further remixes of the heavy-duty track.

The person behind the first two remixes might raise some eyebrows -- none other than Brian Eno himself, being his usual peripatetic self. Entitled the "Life's Too Short" and "Swamp" mixes, they call to mind what U2 were trying to do -- with mixed results -- under his care in the early '90s. Given that Depeche were always more explicitly dedicated to experimentation with sound and groove, what Eno does with the song feels more like a logical continuation.

He keeps the basic rhythm in both mixes but otherwise experiments with echo, other rhythms, and out-of-nowhere noises, along with some good extra guitar from one Jamie West-Oram. Both results are winners, edgy and nervous in their own right."
