I`ve just visited it for the first time - it`s a splendid site! I`m currently listening to Goldfrapp - "Number One" (Mum Remix) on same site. It`s so twee and cute!

I've had the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Stadium Arcadium" on over lunchtime, sitting in the storming summer sun on the quayside by where I work in Newcastle.
That is, I think, a perfect example of "avoiding the bloat" - they had just over three albums worth of material and were going to do three single albums released over a period. Instead they dropped the worst third and ended up with a mighty solid double.
Perfect summer fodder - funky, chilled and singalong. Class stuff.

I was a bit worried when I saw them as the few extra pounds and baggy clothes appeared last time the band got a bit sloppy and off-the-mark but when they fired up....wow ! Tight as a very tight thing !

Hopefully the revival is close now Sigur Ros are becoming quite popular *fingers crossed!* you`re so right, it`s loooong overdue for both bands.

They are good. I saw them live. I'm a bit fed up of reading about the singer's 'twisted' sense of humour though.

I dont read anything about bands I've recently got into... I just let that all seep through to me in time, that way I dont get put off my stupid journalism.
I've actually moved onto the Erol Alkan remix of DFA1979 - Romantic Rights... which is also burning a severe hole in my ipod.

Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
It's weird. People say this is just more of the same, but i think it's their best yet. It's more real sounding, a bit softer less mechanical. It's my summer soundtrack!!
Check out this great new video for Dayvan Cowboy aswell.

I could have made a MUCH better video for that track, and i would have used slo-mo waves aswell!
I agree with you though, that album is fantastic, but it all seems built around "Dayvan Cowboy" (which is, by FAR the best track on the album). I'm over it now though,it obsessed me for a little bit there a while ago
Although sometimes i use it to fall asleep, ...really works too! :D

Geogaddi frightens me too much when the Salad Fingers song comes on.

That song is one of my favorites ( along with Melissa Juice, that I just have this strange connection to because it reminds me, of well, me ) :( I wish they made an ep with creepy music like that.
And I've been listening to my Kate Bush LP's as of late.

I was hearing that yesterday afternoon courtesy of Sirius 'radio' on my satellite tv. They were giving me some nice chuckles with their banter about this and that. When Fly Me Away came on, I looked out at the sunny, windy day outside felt quite nice.

The Beautiful South - Manchester, their new single.
I bought it unheard because I like The Beautiful South, I like the Manchester bus picture (early 70s, I think) on the front and I like the bus ticket design on the CD itself. Now listening to it for the 2nd time, I like the record, too.

I so love this. Feels a bit odd though with the way they do it here. They have it synched to Eastern US time, so I'm hearing what was on at 8:20 British time.
