It's VERY good - heavy as Psalm69, fast as Houses of the Mole and there's some opening lyrics in the Jello Biafra guested track that might just upset a large portion of the USA (just for a change !). Political doesn't even start to describe it !! It's got Paul Raven from Killing Joke guesting in the band too this time round.

Some people can be very, er, sniffy where remixes of favourite artists are concerned. I think they've somehow married dancey beatness with fuzzy lushness in just the right proportion - not easy with Shields stuff to work with AND a dancefloor in mind !

Wasn't Nash on his 'Dance' album ?
You'll find that Nash pops up from time to time with Mr Numan.
He was the support for Gary's Telekon Tour back in 1980. (My very first gig Gary Numan Newcastle City Hall which is why I have a soft spot for him). On that tour he came back on and played a violin solo on Joy Circuit. On his 81 farwell gig's at Wembley Arena, he was support again and came back on and guested on Cry The Clock Said (which is on Dance) during the gig. You can hear the crowd go mad when he comes on stage on the recordings Living Ornaments 80/81.
For those who don't know Nash was a bit of an enigma. He use to be a one man synth band that played beatifully carved goth style electric violins and mandolins whist....... get this was dressed in a white morning suit with a top hat and his faced wrapped with bandages and a pair of small round sunglasses:cool: . added to this on stage he use to have a single silver light so the whole effect was he glowed. Being my first gig and I was quite near the front he scared the bloody life out of me  but you couldn't help but take notice of him and he was the finest support act I've ever seen. The resulting electro pop hybrid sound he made was amazing and unique. Even his record lable was grusome Cut Throat Records (Music In A Particular Vain) he never really made it in this country so ended up back in his native Canada and still gigs occasionally around the Toronto area.

I posted this last night on hearing it for the first time and, as it STILL hits the same way tonight you're getting the post repeated because, er, I can. As before I'm going to swear later in this post - unusual for me so be warned.
Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled show:-
Depeche Mode "The Darkest Star (Holden Dub)"

Just about the most gob-smacking fucking remix I've heard in fucking ages. You're thinking "A dub mix, how different can that be from his already stonking main mix ?" and then you're hit by every trick in the book, seamlessly integrated into less than 8 minutes BUT keeping the spirit of the original track you loved already.
James Holden MUST remix a Goldfrapp single at some point. The call starts here !
Pink Floyd - Careful With That Axe Eugene
From the Live At Pompeii DVD what is playing as I type.

Is that the Directors Cut ? Bought that from Australia six months before it was released here and was surprised how well the alternative footage works and how little the interviews around the studio dinner table intrude.
Probably one of my favourite music DVD's.
"Set The Controls....." is awesome.
Is that the Directors Cut ?
Yep - got it at Borders today for £6.99!

Got it in one - both Jello AND Al's words in that are wonderfully incendiary to say the very least. Best Ministry for ages. Almost tempts me to go and rekindle my account and post a little as a fully-fledged member of the PissArmy again !

I haven't bought a Ministry album since Psalm69 but my tastes have changed a bit since then. My all time fave of theirs is still Twitch, that was a groundbreaking album at the time.

Just heard the Silent Hedges track. Quite nice; I have to say that, seeing how long I waited to hear it. But it did take the jangly guitar bit from the start of the song and put it to good effect. And it sounded full-bodied on my I-tunes player.

Their first album (Volume 1: Sound Magic) was simply amazing but all the stuff I've heard since doesn't seem to be as good. Maybe it's just me ?
Individual taste is individual taste, Carpy, and no-one's right or wrong. Personally speaking, their latest album is the best one IMO. I think the addition of Johnny Kalsi was a great move by them.

Funnily enough, I've lent that to a colleague of mine at work this weekend too.
I'd been banging on to him how good it was and getting the polite "Yeah." in return. He'd then heard a track on the radio, loved it and listened for what it was - it was them. Thus, somewhat surprised, he came back asking about them !
I'll get 'em in the end.

Funnily enough, my Bedingfield hatred only extends to the girl. Dan (as I like to call him) always comes accross as a nice guy, and he's obviously worked hard to get where he is and had a clear idea of what he wanted to do, writing and producing his own stuff, etc.
Its not the sort of thing I listen to, far from it, but the respect comes from its worlds away from how his sister got famous. And to be fair, the boy can sing too.
He also gives fat blokes hope everywhere!
