I tend to find the "machine trilogy" ("Replicas", "Pleasure Principle" and "Telekon") are always safe bets, Tubeway Army stuff is good if you want it a bit punkier and "Dance" is actually far better than you remember if you can just get past that cover.......

Other than that you need to be in the right mood for the rest. If you are then it works well.

Apart from "The Fury", of course.....good grief

To be honest i haven't listened to the albums for ages (tapes most of them) but i seem to remember lots of MicK Karn bass on Dance so i quite liked it!

Genius stuff, actually. I'd love to hear these remix a Goldfrapp track for a single or whatever. It's old school and almost anolog wobbly, yet still with a beautiful clinical sheen. Those vocals too - very odd and haunting, with the emphasis on both the "odd" AND the "haunting".

I noticed that the weird infra-red hand control mixer used by Matmos to do it live at the Royal Opera House gig is actually only about £60 - It's an Alesis AirFX (http://www.alesis.com/product.php?id=52) !!

I love that song... I love the ending where it sounds like Tagaq is crying, her throatsinging is very expressive... I loved it when Björk watched her while doing her parts for Ancestors (which many hate, but I love hugely, I dont understand how someone couldnt feel the emotion in that song) and it seemed like she was just watching TV or something while Tagaq was down on her knees... :D

Yeah, me too!! I can't help but sing the "Oooooh oh ohhhh oh oh oh"s at the beginning.

"Ancestors" is one of my favourites on the album. "Submarine" has never really clicked with me...and it's the only one that hasn't. :(

I haven't heard the remake of it!? :o

I thought that it was criminal that it didn't make it onto "Medúlla" in some way or another! Come August, it's been two years since her last studio album...can't believe it's been that long.

I remember the build-up to "Medúlla", just like it was yesterday. She needs to release a new album at the end of this year/2007...and then do an extensive tour!!
If we don't get a new album this year - then here's hoping that one of the two-thousand and three shows, gets released on DVD. :(
