He always seems to do remixes of stuff that he's produced in the first place! He's done the same on the new Madge album singles too.

Actually,if anybody wants the above it's at http://www.leilamusic.co.uk/
She used to play with Bjork and sounds like a female Aphex Twin but with an even wider scope and more beauty, She gets people to guest vocal on some tracks too. She also did the programming on "Storm" from Bjork / Matthew Barneys "Drawing Restraint 9".
"Like Weather", her first album on Rephlex, is one of my all time faves. I'd implore many of you to get or borrow this, by the way.
You'll find a pile of her commercial b-sides and extra tracks freely downloadable on the site too in the "MPtreats" section - she seems to take the "it's mine and I'll give them away if I wish" view which is quite refreshing ! I like the thing she has on there:-
"by the way, if there is any material that may cause offence or distress of an arsey litigative nature be happy to respond accordingly.
Anybody who likes Aphex Twin, the Rephlex or Warp labels, chill out choons or lop-sided electronica would do well to head over there and grab what is, in effect, a cracking little free album ! Corvina and JJJ, that's you amongst others !
There's also a section of bootlegs and mashups she's done too, hence the track above.

Why thankyou. His music is lovely isn't it? It's such an achievement when someone takes just a guitar and makes something sound, well 'new', even though he's singing in a traditional style. Its not the most novel thing in the world to pick a guitar and sing songs on your own, but this just sounds so relevant. Stuff like this is even better on headphones, I find.

I always enjoy listening to Iron & Wine through my headphones - but even more so I enjoy listening to them on vinyl, there's something about vinyl records that evokes so much more emotion than just a cd player, I wont ever get over it.
I saw them live once, and it wasn't all that I had expected it to be - it was rather boring actually. But I had to appreciate it for what it was.

Yes - I think listening to it now, in an age where narratives in pop music are virtually unheard of, it`s gained something that it didn`t have in the 80s. I just remembered - when I first started going out on the gay scene in Manchester I had about three pairs of army pants, and whenever I walked in NewYorkNewYork with them on the drag queen always said "Eeee, f**k me, it`s Camouflage!"

love this song.
Thus inspired, in a "see band, see word" kinda way:-
Depeche Mode - "Dressed in Black"
"Shadows fall onto me
And she stands there over me
And waits to encompass me
I lay here helplessly
But oh, what can you do
When she's dressed in black"
Cliched, but so true...........

The Knife and José Gonzales?
No. The Knife are a duo consisting of the siblings Olof and Karin Dreijer.
José Gonzales is "a spanish looking" guy which is no where near anything electronic sounding.
Both are swedish though. And I think they are mutual friends... or so I've heard.

**goes off to check**
EDIT: No, you're right, they're just good friends. I haven't heard the Knife version, but I really like the original. The guitar playing is just really simple but kind of innovative and nice. It inspired me to dig out my stepsisters old classical guitar from the garage!

I was discussing that advert with someone on here the other day, I think it was Carpy, and in regards to that: THE BALLS ARE REAL! I read an interview with Jose himself who testified so. He even owns some of the balls!
Fun 'Jose' facts: My Dad is called Jose, his Dad is called Jose, as was his Dad, as was his Dad (it may even stretch back further, we don't know) And my little brother is called Joseph, the English form of Jose.
Now I'm listening to:
Nouvelle Vague
