I wish I had some Cure to listen to! It`s all on vinyl though (and mostly on 7inches at that!) and I just haven`t got round to transferring it to tape or hard drive yet. I`ve got around 40 mix tapes in my desk at work and around seven of them have The Cure on - and every one is "Charlotte Sometimes"!! I could listen to that song three times a day and not get bored of it.

the Corrs version of that song is probably the biggest mullering of a good song ever. At least they didn't do 'Rhiannon'.
BTW, did you know that fleetwood Mac employed a roadie just to keep Stevie Nicks' nose powdered with the finest columbian at all times?

I haven't heard the Corrs version, but now I want to considering it's horrible. I don't think I've heard a Fleetwood Mac cover that I've actaully liked. Every since I was a little girl I've wanted to cover "Sara" though. I think I will, but I'll never release it if I become famous...

I found a version of me playing and singing that on my computer the other day. I never realised that I saved it but I was listening to it quite impressed that I was managing it (in a completely different key of course) but in the last verse I lost where I was up to switching the 'he's' to 'she's' and the 'his' to 'hers' and I just start swearing. It was quite funny because I completely forgot about it.
Anyways, fun Rilo Kiley fact: Jenny Lewis sang that naked when they recorded it so she could feel awkward enough to match the song.

The Mighty Boosh
Kraftwerk Orange - "Electro Boy"
Driving along on the plastic dream,
Heart beats fast like a tiny machine,
I am electro boy,
I am electro girl,
Sailing along on a Perspex sea,
Crystal moccasins, bionic cheese,
I am electro boy,
I am electro girl.
I'm tempted to try and copy this on my virtual synth-rack and remix it !

I dislike them just because of that song which has a go at people with jobs, I think it just sounds really pretencious. I'd like to see what they'd all be doing if/when they get dropped.

Watching the vid for (and listening to, obviously) the new thang from Prince "Black Sweat".
Very impressed - one of the most "Prince" things he's done since, er, ages ! Seriously stripped down funkiness a bit like the days of the Lovesexy album crossed with a "Kiss" twist.
Bodes very well for the forthcoming 3121 album, especially as he's got his guitar firmly strapped on again when performing live.

For the last week I've been working through Witching Hour by Ladytron, which Duncan has lent me.
Pretty impressed all in all. Destroy Everything You Touch even manages to be enjoyably listenable despite having "Pet Shop Boys" all over it (eeuurggh! Get a cloth). Soft Power starts off like Hawkwind and when I hear the chord sequence in CMYK I can barely stop myself singing "Girls on film...".
But, as Duncan, said "Play this record and it's 1980 again". I like it.

Well sony/ipod attachment kits (to plug on in cd changer socket) are under £50 at mo so it will last a bit longer (as i don't use a CD changer!).
Then again had my car wrote off the other day after it was broken into. Got £350 for it - which is bloody crazy. SO no bloody car at mo (just the mini disc player).
What has pissed me off is the fact my car had a street value of under £500 (2nd hand cars are so cheap at the mo.) ..but could quite easily have been run for another 10 years. BUT as repairs are getting so expensive why do £1300 of repairs (you should see the crazy way they tried to break in!) to a car worth less than half that.
So what i'm saying is we are scraping pefectly good cars, which is VERY bad for the ENVIRONMENT. I should get financial help as i'm happy running old cars!
+ kind of pissed they still charged me the £100 excess!!!!
Anyone got a cheap car for sale???

Greenwell, I guess he is getting some major attention throughout the US. I actually saw one of his video's on a local music video channel here in the NYC area. Every Fri nite they play great upcoming new music on WNYC channel 25 (sort of a local public tv channel). His video was a live performance and to see this Hasidic Jew on stage in full religious regalia singing and performing roots reggae was a jaw dropper for me. He is extremely talented and I just had to go out and buy the cd.
