The Angelo Badalamenti soundtrack to the game I have currently sitting at the menu screen. Stirring (and quite eerie) stuff.
You can hear some of it over here on the makers page for "Fahrenheit" (http://www.atari.com/fahrenheit/uk/index.html)

I tell ya, the walls in our house are soooooo thin you don't have to put your ear up close. I remember getting out of bed at about 2am to nip to the loo and one of them had come home from the pub and had started this arguement, I heard it all. Someone had been unfaithful, she was being called a 'f***ing bitch', he was being screamed at, there were doors slamming   . Melissa Auf der Maur - "I need, I want, I will"
Mad as a bag of kittens but epic in all the best ways. I'd love to know what was in her head when she wrote the story for that one !
I mean, what IS all this about:-
In the last decade of the 20th century
An event occurred in the lived and minds
Of a random few
It was an event of magical momentum
A building was erected
To house a dream of many
3 dimensional sound
For these people
Who made sound their lives
This was a day of life changing quality
It was loud
I need I want I will
Pass it on, pass it on, pass it on
Into the triangular parlot they went
The music entered them
Through their skin
Into their blood
Following their heart beat
The music became them
And they became it
Off they went following a dirt desert path
A brand new beginning for lovers of sound
They had to pass it on
I need I want I will
I need I want I will
Pass it on
Pass it on
Pass it on
The journey was not easy for them
On their path there was an obstactle
Down came the rain
And the H.R. Giger crane
It all tried to stop them
However they found the will
To find their way back home
To pass it on
I had a dream, I pass it on
I had a dream, I pass it on

This is my first listen and I'm quite impressed. Don't ask me where the bloody oompah inspiration has came from!
Lots of it reminded me of Four Tet though; its a nice direction for this album but I hope they don't go that way entirely, what I love about Sigur ros is despite how ethereal their music is it is still quite organic sounding. I don't know how 'laptoppy' I want them to get. But then again I don't want them to make Aegaetis Byrjun or () again either.
Its definitley a good progression, my mate is insisting to me that its their best work yet, but I'd have to listen to it a good few more times but I very much doubt I'll ever esteem it higher than (). But thats very high esteem indeed.;)
