No, its a good tune. James de la Cruz (of Avalanches fame) played it in his set on Saturday night when I was out, as well as 'Hollaback Girl' by Gwen Stefani and 'Crazy in Love' by beyonce - and I enjoyed and danced to all three!
I've sort of figured out that as you get older you don't lose interest in what's more obscure as such, you just seem to appreciate good pop music more.

Coldplay X&Y
Anybody heard this yet?
I feel a bit sorry for Coldplay. Critics will slate this album as it is just the same old Coldplay - nothing new. But the songs as individual tracks are even more mini pop anthems than ever - they make U2 songs seem a bit flat. But as an album it kind of feels all the same and on first few listens ...bland.
Also true what the reviews say about Jonny doing an 'edge' the whole way through it! :) So beware.
It's like U2 when they reinvent and push themselves through to Zooropa and POP albums (which got slated but in my view the later was their best) they get reviews saying they have lost their way. So they go back to the formula and fans buy their records again but the press say they have got no new ideas or imagination!! Can't win can they.
Coldplay will have that problem next.
I reckon Coldplay will split after this (nowhere to go), Chris will break up with Gwyneth, and go solo wrting a great 'break up/break down' album! :)
First 6 tracks could all be massive singles though. I'm liking Talk as that Kraftwerk riff sounds great (PS: no Kraftwerk sample is left - but i'd love to hear the orginal mix).

Whats that new live album like?
Minimum - Maximum? I don't know. It only came out 3 days ago in the UK and I haven't got it yet.
Amazon has sound clips (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009H9NE8/qid=1118272645/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl15/102-5444058-4095365?v=glance&s=music&n=507846). Sounds similar to that live tape I mentioned but with the new tracks and variations on the old tracks. That link I give is Amazon USA as they have more formats of samples, not just Realplayer like the Amazon UK.

what is the deal with Kraftwerk live? it is all meticulously sequenced isn't it? maybe it is the robotic performance element that switches people on (i know it would me!); and/or their elusiveness, their mysterious circuitry. there was a time when people would speculate whether it really was them up on stage or a set of androids being remote-controlled from Dusseldorf. i love them, of course :)
I've read Ralf Hutter from Kraftwerk say that they do actually improvise to some extent, depending on whether they want to let the machines run or "interfere" as he puts it.
I think this is why the live CD takes its tracks from various concerts as there are differences. :)

Too bad; it may stand as one of 10 faves of 2005, along with System Of A Down's BYOB (Atrocious politics, I suspect, but I can't argue with the swing that song packs; it reminds me of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody for some reason, but in a Bertold Brechet-ian mode).

Yes. No-one else can pull off a leather tracksuit with such aplomb. The first half of the Zoot Woman/Zoot Woman album is truly amazing, but I really want some more Les Rythmes Digitales stuff, maybe even tackling a different era - early to mid nineties perhaps? I've got a feeling he might be releasing something else soon, as he's touring a bit as a DJ (and he was amazing when he played Liverpool!), unless its just to promote 'Darkdancer', seeming as its been re-released mid-price recently (and you all should buy it).

Actor/Long-term Chris Morris collaborator/ demi-god.
He's probably best known for being Brian in Spaced but he's been in loads - he seems to be horribly typecast in the same sort of 'intimaditing weirdo' role though now, which is a shame because he's such a good actor.

Yep, its the band Kieren Hebden was in, with Adem Ilhan who's getting something of a reputation for himself these days, and some other bloke. Their stuff was a lot more organic than four tet - a similar sound but with a more 'live' feel. They were also Badly Drawn Boy's backing band for a short while.
