Honestly, you'd love them. I was going to tell you about them actually. They're from Norway as well to boot.
You know I love MBV, but I find the Concretes a bit too folky to the extent it sounds ridiculously archaic.
Heh, heh, I saw the Concretes in Mono in Glasgow actually (great venue), and half way into the set my mate asked me "when does the joust start?". I couldn't stop laughing.
But the Radio Dept. are just as sacharin whilst being fuzzier and sexier, honestly, please check them out and let me know what you think.

basically the asssistant manager didnt like it if stuff he didnt like was being played even though he was never on the shop floor anyway! so those albums got banned even though all 5 of them were really high sellers...

I'm getting frustrated with not having my music partition working yet - I need to get that sorted out so we can crack on with learning the ins and outs of Ableton.
On the subject of MIA, I was thinking of doing a more cohesive remix of Galang for the mix, probably some storming, bassy nu skool breaks type thing.

We did get to play quite a bit of stuff we were into, but I think the issue was that the language on that particular track was a bit choice for family shopping period on a saturday afternoon.
Anyway, back on topic. Currently listening to The Breezeblock on bbc listen again.
Current track: Jamie Liddell 'Back2TheBubble'
i used to be a manager in this tiny little shop, and i could totally choose my own music!! best times are when songs like peaches-fuck the pain away and avenue d-too drunk too fuck came on and there were families in there and stuff!! all very funny with many angry faces and crossed arms!!
another great trick was when you used to get annoying groups of teenagers in there just hanging out and chatting, just slowly keep turning the music up louder and louder until they couldnt even hear each other!!

Good shout. Dido, Jem and that brigade could learn a lot from that song. Moody and sexy doesn't neccessarily have to mean an emotionally detatched sound. My favourite is still the title track off that album though, no matter how ubiquitous it has became of late.
And that Gorillaz song! What a tune! Ironic that Oasis are still scraping their knuckles while Damon is being progressive with Goriilaz. It's probably the best arrangement I've heard in a song all year, Dan the Automator is a genius.
I'm listening to: Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism. My favourite album of all of last year.

I've always had more respect for Damon and Blur as a whole, much more willing to try things out. Sure, it doesn't always work, but I much prefer that approach to Oasis' tired and formulaic ideas. I thought Think Tank was a great album, full of great ideas, and I still love the album Damon recorded in Mali as well.

Currently listening to the newest Elite Force Strongarm Session mix from Proton Radio... just getting a fix for my current tech-funk addiction. Now playing: Audiofly - Not What We Was
Offspring - Gone Away
My internet-radio ripping program has now automatically collected 450 MP3's of rock songs in about 15 hours. This Offspring track was one of them. When I get the full version of the program, it'll do about 1000 MP3's in the same time. Hehehe... :D

I hadn't heard that track in ages either. It's one of 600 MP3's my internet-radio ripping program has hoovered up in the last day or two. I just read the name Dragula comes from a turbo-charged hot-rod coffin on wheels from the 60's TV series The Munsters. Ahahaha! :D
