I was just listening to my landlady, Joyce, playing Debussey's Clair De Lune on her upright piano. Quite haunting, even if not the most expert version. Quite awesome still hearing such 'amature' homemade music in the 21'st Century.

i know, i know, it´s like with the frequent ringtone advertisements (i don´t know whether you guys have the pleasure to get those 4, 5 minutes in a row in every break, preferably on music channels, for instance "Sweety, the little chicken" or "The totally batty frog"); but i won´t complain, no ... *silently sinks her head onto the table*

Keane: 'Sunshine' and 'Your Eyes Open'. Sometimes the public get it right: Hopes and Fears is a great album! Lovely stuff!

Listened to the Franz Ferdinand album proper for the first time the other day. It's alright, I suppose. The second track is cool, I like 'Matinee' and 'Michael' is absolutely blinding, a wicked pop song.

Also, anyone like Scott Walker here? My GOD! He's fantastic. I got round to listening to Scott 4 the other day and it's stunning, really stunning. The way the music uses strings and orchestras is mindblowing. Makes a lot of other string-fuelled 'epic' music sound weak in comparison. 'Cept for Echo and the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain. That's still a beauty.

Yes, yes, yes! He's made some blindingly beautiful music and you can hear his influence on a lot of newer artists (Pulp especially, but then they worked with him, didn't they?)...some of the lyrics are a bit odd, though :D !

Yes. I can understand why the reviews were luke warm, after all they're not a London garage band wowing a handful of their friends of an evening at the Rhythm Factory.

But Lemon Jelly fans (the good people) will love '64-'95. 'Come Down on Me' is my new favourite LJ song. The sense of fun is still there but they've avoided making 'Lost Horizons 2' (or indeed lemonjelly.ky 3) and it's all the better for it. Some of the guitar patterns will feel familiar, but the drums (someting neglected on the past two outings) have come into their own. They've done a 'dance' album - whatever that is.

I might end up buying the DVD as well.

Oh, right now I'm listening to:

Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory

for the first time in a couple of years. It sounds really good again.

You don't have to write anything. It's just a way to keep the conversation going, let other's know what they think is cool, and get post points (at least that last point works for me, sad to say).

Exactly what I thought when I saw Gary Neville playing on the TV last night.

I'm listening to 3 Colours Red - Revolt. 'Beautiful Day' is THE best Britpop song despite not being by a 'Britpop' band.

In fact I'm going back to my youth at the mo listening to a lot of my old Creation stuff: Oasis, My Bloody Valentine, 3 colours red, Primal Scream. All good fun.
