Hey ! how are you? all good i hope ?!
the first pic is Charlie and Will, in the studio where we are presently doing the album, near Bath.
pic 2. i think that wig hair was stolen from the dancers.
pic3 this is in my dressing room in Paris,we played this gorgeous little theatre called the Marigny last year,
i loved the silk quilted walls.
lastly this was taken in the playground behind a resturant in spain, the festival we played at later that eve was just down the road on the beach, i cant remember the name of it?
anyway hows your week been? dont know about you but i feel pooped! i’m sooooo glad its the weekend! I saw Charlie the other night, it was so great to see him! what a special lovely man! Davide is arriving tonight from copenhagen and staying at my place, i cant wait to see his crazy little face !! he is working in london doing stuff, not sure what he’s working on but i’m really looking forward to hanging out with him at some point.
someone asked me the other day why i don’t do twitter. i have to say i had to think about it for a bit, it feels like everyone is doing it but i’m not sure i like the idea? for a start i don’t think i could keep up sending little messages like that all the time? being so aware, cataloging everything you do, then telling everyone about it seems quite extreme so i think doing a blog is enough for me right now.
ok so on that note, i’m gonna open a bottle of wine and make some dinner!
speak soon,love love love
have a great weekend!!!xxxxxxxxxalison
Awwww amazing pictures and loving the Cello!
Keep up the pics. AND i think this is a million times better and personal than TWITTER your better than that.

Looks like you’re having a great time, Alison!
I agree; twitter seems a bit TOO much and slightly obsessive. Like something stalkers would use. :L
Anyway, have a good time,

wow. now i can tell you how much your last album meant to me yipeeee. I did not think that it was possible to get another favorite album. thought id heard it all the intimacy of the content is so true to the heart of music that it made me start singing in the street a very very very healing record. it suggests very early musical memories i love it i love it. thanks for having courage, and bringing me a deep and profound joy. peace

Missing you lot terribly, can’t wait for the new album.
Now is a good opportunity to thank you for a bottle of champagne you gave me & my boyfriend outside Union Chapel (cos you might read this!!) Thanks so much, you were SO courteous & we were very drunk, SORRY! I still have it by the way, can’t bring myself to open it.

I have to agree with you regarding Twitter. It can be a bit much to constantly send updates to “followers” and let them know that you just farted or something. Wait, did I just write that?

Hahaha! I agree about Twitter. It’s seemingly useless. Lovin’ the studio pics, can’t wait to hear some new tunes.
LOL, I keep typing in the band’s name on a Google news search to find out more about what you guys are doing and all I get is mainly Christina Aguilera news. Is there some sort of connection?!!
I also wanna know, what is your favorite album of yours? What do you guys see as your ‘big achievement’…thanks and bye!!

Wow, I’m so pleased I found this blog. Much more personal than Twitter which is just really obsessive and kind of dull to say what you’re doing in about 40 words or so!
The photos look like you’re having a great time. I really can’t wait til the new album and a tour. I was at Bexhill last year which was just awesome when everyone rebelled and got out of their seats! And you were fabulous.
Favourite playlist on my iPod is every Goldfrapp release on shuffle, never one that I skip!!

And, thanks for letting all of us fans get a glimpse at your photos, it’s great to see them and adds a nice personal touch.
You should let us know what music/films you’ve been in to lately! For me, it’s all about the latest Yeah Yeah Yeah’s album and Spinnerette’s new one, which is much better than I ever expected.

Hello, Allison! I also do not understand TWITTER. What’s the point of recording every little thing you do? I still think it’s really weird. Your blog is much better. Much more personal! Twitter would certainly take away some of your mystery and mystique! Glad to see you’re already working on a new album. The “Seventh Tree” era seemed rather quick but it was my first time seeing you in concert (Orpheum, Los Angeles CA) on my BIRTHDAY and it was the greatest birthday surprise ever. You were great! Can’t wait to see you guys again.
Comment by Diana — Saturday, June 20, 2009 @ 5:21 pm
Yeah, I completely understand what you mean about being glad it’s the weekend — it’s Saturday! Yay! I’m so happy, although pretty much everyday in the summer is a Saturday for me [except for Sunday... oh well :)] because I am out of school until… well, whenever school starts back here Arkansas, whatever! Anyways, hi and say hi to Will for me and I am in extreme anticipation for your next album; God, I can only dream of what new melodies and sensations you guys are going to come up with your album! Of course, when I’m not dreaming about your new album I’m dreaming of Robert Pattinson! I still have that dream vivid in my mind where he killed me for you… I’m a little obsessive, I should talk to my psychologist! Just kidding… anyways, hope you have an awesome summer and it still seems like yesterday that I saw you live at the Orpheum in Los Angeles… and don’t give into the Twitter hype!!! LOL
Love, Jane

hey A&W! happy to see another update… definitely excited about the new album… can u give us a ballpark of when it’ll be done?
about twitter: do what you feel is comfortable (which you are already doing, love you for that!) personally, i think becoming a tweeter would be going against the very persona you’ve created since “felt mountain”…
“some people ask me if i twitter” lol…. seriously, i hope you will never have to write a lyric like that.
speaking of “random,” have you seen this? >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFMBx5y0-vg

“A Fan’ - She’s ok, but personally, someone like Kate Budsh or KT Tunstall would do better with Goldfrapp (if they’re still in their Seventh Tree phase, that is.)
On iTunes listeners who bought KT Tunstall bought Seventh Tree!
I hope the new album has a mix of Seventh Tree, Supernature (especially Fly Me Away) and a little bit of black cherry (not stuf like slippage!) and some felt mountain feel to it.
And perhaps a little bit of rock; if that’s not too much to ask!

Hi hi again From Nova Scotia =D Just poping in to tell you… Damn. I forgot what I was going to say. Keep up the good work, and what ever the new album soungs like I will still love it. OOH! I remember what I was going to say. Last NIght I scared the crap out of my mom. It was about 12:30 (My time) and I was lystening to Lovely Head. It got to the part where you sing into that voice altering synth. She was asleep on the couch. All I hear is her shoot out bed. Then she runs into my room, and shes like “Devin. What the hell are you lystening to?!?!?!” I told her I was Lystening to Goldfrapp. I played the part over again to her and she was like “Don’t play that song in the middle of the night. It scared the shit out of me. All I could hear was that sound and I didn’t know what it was or where it was coming from.” Just thought I’d tell you that little story. Hope you injoy =) Please consider coming to Nova Scotia. You have alot of fans here in Atlantic Canada and I’d love to see you guy’s where sometime =) Lots of love, Kisses, Hugs, and meny hellos to Charlie, Will, Davide and all the rest. Twitter or not Twitter…” ” Sorry for my french sense of humour
Hope you will not get tired or bored of this “blog’s jobb”. Some month ago I tried this “social experience” and it was quite difficult to don’t get to that question: “Why do I do that ?”…
because the answer was so absurd as the question
Hope you will not get to this stage
Anyway, your music always brings calming and escape from reality… your words begins well to do the same….

I just found this blog (it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here). I’m glad your doing it. Really curious as to what you’ve been doing.
Anyways, I’m sure it was asked earlier by somebody else, but hows Will doing? Try and get him to post, or at least know he’s still alive and well
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
