Hi !
if anyone is still interested or still looking here, i’m really sorry for my inconsistent blog writing, it must be really irritating ?! i’m undoubtedly crap at doing this on a regular basis!
so…. we have been back in the studio writing the album after finishing the score for the film ‘nowhere boy’. its all been going great, Will and i will be probably be finished soon after christmas. we’re doing a photo shoot for the album art work this week which is exciting, so i’ve been busy preparing for that. also looking at who might direct the video for the first single. there will be a bit of redesign for the website too, soon i hope.
we have packed up the studio in london and go back to looking at big skies and rooks fighting the wind in the west country for the remainder of the work on the album.
in amongst all of this i managed to catch the michael clark company at the barbican. it was bloody marvelous. a real feast for the ears and eyes! also went to a party last night and danced my socks off, which was a great stress buster.
the beloved cat is recovering from a cat attack! it looks like he put up a good fight but was bitten bad. after a couple of trips to the vet, he’s now much better and purring away by the fire.
Davide and his lovely wife came over to stay from Denmark. it was great to catch up with him and we talked about how exciting it’ll be to play again next year.
i hope you are all well and good and not too disappointed at my slack blogness.
i promise to check in at the end of the month. love alisonxxxxx
Good to read you.
Cant wait to hear your new tracks.
Take care

Nice to see things sounding so positive in both musical and feline arenas.
New artwork, new video, new music…..makes it all sound so real and imminent suddenly. Do you have any timescale for release as that date isn’t always related to completion, of course!
Continued following wind to your sails,
Carpy.

Hey! So nice to read this on a rainy Sunday here in Campinas, BR. I am looking forward to the new album and look, also can’t wait to see the new webiste. I am very excited that you guys are recording in the city as well as the countryside. I am sure that it will bring brilliant new grooves to the gorgeous music you guys make… it rocks my world! Is this the first time you record in London? I’m curious!

Hi Alison!
Great to hear from you, and like everyone else I am getting excited about the new album. One of the great things about the way you and Will produce music is that each new release is never predictable: it is a bit like Christmas when we were little kids!
Also looking forward to seeing you and the band again here in Australia
Love as always xxx

It’s all right, Ms. Goldfrapp!
I’m just happy to hear back from you. I almost didn’t check back tonight - one should be careful making assumptions, eh? It’s good to know you’re working on the album and having fun whilst doing it!

It’s Monday morning and pissing rain here in Dublin, that could have been a really bad start to the day but now you have cheered me up no end. Album art work shoot woohooo! I just can’t wait to hear the new stuff after Christmas. I did a bit of dancing my socks off too recently, it’s good for the soul isn’t it? I was bloody knackered for two days afterwards though! Your poor cat, he is a little unfortunate isn’t he? Much like my dogs, they cost me a fortune!

Hi Ms. Goldfrapp,
- please keep on writing the blog. I really don’t care if you don’t write regurarly: this means that you do that willingly and freely. Your interventions are always so sincere and interesting.

Comment by Alex T. — Monday, November 16, 2009 @ 2:50 pm
Really looking forward to the new record, and imagery (court jesters and medieval torture devices). A short preview as to the new direction would be superb. And I trust the new album will be released in a deluxe, heavy vinyl version.
The gap between artistic music and popular culture has never been as large as it is now. If you gaze at the charts and cable TV and compare that with what the underground is putting out, it’s clear a new dawn for music is close. When that happens, it’s important to know which side you’re standing on. Thankfully, I have every confidence that Goldfrapp will stand firm with artistic integrity; a mocking gesture to the blind, mass hordes with their chart music, Mp3 downloads and x-factor bile.

She asked me why you where in a bunny costume, and why Will was dressed as a tree. I told her he was the Seventh tree…because it was just before the releas of that album. She also wants to know if your planning to do a Xmas cd. We lystened to Winter Wonderland. She thought it was really interesting and said that a Xmas cd would really cool…and trippy lol Well happy recording and I’ll be checking up in the blog at the end of the month.

(yes. the one who gave you the ‘deer print’. by the way, i was one of the ten lucky kids who won one of the signed copies of ’seventh tree & DVD’. i felt like veruca salt, winning the wonka golden ticket.
was it a mere coincidence? or????
also, i contacted serge leblon and bought a 20X24 print from your photo shoot with him. the one you are sitting on the tree with the owl (will) by your side. the same one used on the vinyl gatefold.
it is gorgeous. i still have not framed it, but i am so happy to have bought it. it is the number one print, out of five.)
sorry for posting all this here, but i don’t know how to reach you directly…
happy thanksgiving.

O’ don’t worry about blogging - I am not much of a blogger either and not disappointed - once a month to let us know whats going on is just fine. You and Will just need to focus on giving the world good music worth listening to, and a little stress relief and fun is good for the soul every now and then. Keep up the spirits and enjoy the ride. Nothing is ever worth taking so serious that it isn’t fun anymore. Just let us know when the recordings will be released - I can wait and no doubt it will be worth the anticipation.

I saw two doves mating this morning and thought of Goldfrapp.
Your heart is full enough to inspire a whole symphonic opus. It’s all there: the spirited rush of new love, the tragedy of loss, the bright, bold sound of hope. Your life plays out like dramatic music.
You are like a light to a black hole.
Love ALL Ways,
