  17. Alison your dreams are very revealing, with intriquing symbolism. you don’t know where you are heading, and are unsure of where you belong, and very restless, the mist signifies confusion. However the dream is positive with the sun coming through.perhaps after your travels you may see things more clearly.

After reading your comment about the virus (without realizing it was on your computer), I thought you were contagious!!! hahaha
Hmmm yeas, Greece is possible, I’m thinking summery sort of influence for your music - nice and tranquil. Midday on a deserted beach, nothing but waves and maybe a seagull or two…
I absolute LOVE you and Will .. oh and your music :D - ‘Little Bird’ was the soundtrack to my wintery July in Australia - it’s not as sunny as you think!!! Pleaseee pay us a visit soon again.

  27. Hey Alison,

I’m panting in excitement to hear your new material. Supernature is on repeat on my mp3, as usual, lol. Will Christina Aguilera be featured on your new album?!?! I remember reading you guys met up with her after the Africa Rising charity event last year in the papers. Oh, and are you planning on touring Leeds anytime soon? I tried to see you guys last time in London, but I had work that night. :(

    All the best,

  50. Good job stick to the writing songs, and doing great pictures and watchable fasinating interviews.writing sucks its the least kinestetic form of art…ok I here what about poetry…it is better spoken than read better felt than understod. Alls I know is that propper song writing great album making on a popular mature and assesable level, that is arty as it is main stream and not soley for the teeny boppers is done by one band these days and I think we knowwho that it is yes its Goldfrapp. Not only do we want to shag the singer,we want to build tent at the bottom of the garden with her. Bollan, Bowie, Sioux, I’m not sure she’d like this but I see Stevie knicks and Barbra Striesand in thier two. I mean listen To Evergreen on youtube it kind of gives you that same chilled out relaxed feeling that, That Seventh Tree gives you. But what makes Seventh Tree truly great for me is the fact that yes It has a sentementalwarm side toit but thiers just enough sharpness on the edges to keep it the Right side of Sentemental. It’s the most healling album that I have heard, without becoming to hippy dippy and not believable. I love it and have listened to it just about every day since it came out. It just brings you home and reminds you what its important. It is not entirely uninformed by the teachings Buhhdism which I have beeen waiting a long time to here.. I mean “all the poemes writen in your skin”.. Its time to come home. and that song reminds me to come home..

  72. Here in the USA, we are at a huge disadvantage compared to England. For a space program, all we have is NASA, the space shuttle, a space station, and Hubble telescope. England has Goldfrapp, the most advanced and far reaching space program in the history of the known universe. Just put on an any excellent music video of the beautiful Alison Goldfrapp, and be instantly transported to other worlds much more exciting and thrilling than Earth! —James C. 76. Alison Goldfrapp: Having found your blog gives me the opportunity to tell you the complete true story of how I found out about you and your music. I’ve already mentioned in a previous comment that I found you via YouTube. There is more to it than that, and it might surprise you…

Patrick McGoohan is my favorite actor of all time. I especially liked him as John Drake in Danger Man [UK series name] aka Secret Agent Man [renamed for US series], followed by him as Number 6 in The Prisoner. Danger Man was before my time. I finally got to watch it via NetFlix. I watched The Prisoner when I was about age 12. Patrick McGoohan was first choice to play James Bond 007 in Dr. No, but he declined, so it went to Sean Connery.

The story behind the fictional story is that secret agent John Drake suddenly resigned, and refused to say why. [The end of the Danger Man/Secret Agent Man TV series.] The British government didn’t like that, so they abducted him and took him to The Village, where he became Number 6. [The start of The Prisoner TV series.] Throughout the series, his captors – especially Number 2 – fail to find out why he resigned, while he is trying to find out who Number 1 is. There you have it. In the final episode, he comes face-to-face with Number 1. Himself.

Another fan created a tribute video for the Danger Man aka Secret Agent Man series and Patrick McGoohan, which I happened to find one day at YouTube…
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS0lIUKSnr8&feature=related
…It is such a cool video. Likewise, I love the music the maker of the video selected to be used with it, credited at the end of the video, Number 1 by Goldfrapp. Perfect choice. Must be one of your major fans. I’d never herd Number 1 before. I’d never heard of Goldfrapp. I wanted to know more about Goldfrapp and hear more of your excellent music, so I did a search at YouTube and Google Search, and found nothing! Then the tribute video got removed for some kind of violation. All was lost. A year later, I did another search and began to find your music videos posted at YouTube. Then I found your bio at Wiki. A year later, I recently found the original tribute video restored to YouTube, apparently the dispute having been resolved with its maker, mhr_kara. I’m happy to see it back, because if it wasn’t for the free ad exposure you got from that, then I would probably have never heard of you, me being way over here in Norman Oklahoma USA. End result, I ordered your Supernature CD and DVD from Amazon and it should be here September 1. I’ll order more next month. I love all of your music.

Patrick McGoohan, Number 1 favorite actor of all time. John Drake, Number 1 favorite secret agent of all time. Number 1, Number 1 favorite song of all time. Goldfrapp, Number 1 music performer of all time. See? It all fits. The Prisoner returns as a special miniseries on American Movie Channel [AMC] in November 2009. I wish they would also remake Secret Agent Man and have you do all of the music for the series. That would be perfect.

  95. The Supernature CD and DVD finally arrived today from Amazon. I’d already seen most of the music videos at YouTube, but it is easily worth the money to be able to play the DVD on my big screen TV with a better sound system, watched from my easy chair, rather than using my computer at my desk. On a scale of 5 stars - 1 being failure and 5 being excellent, I give Supernature 7 stars - 1 bonus star for the CD and 1 bonus star for the DVD.

  103. Yes, E! confirms the Aguilera - Goldfrapp rumor here http://www.rumorsinmusic.com/christina-aguilera-is-working-with-goldfrapp/ watch the YouTube video for Goldfrapp and others mentioned for the big project in Aguilera’s own words on the video, so no doubt about it.

    Comment by James C Harwood — Saturday, September 5, 2009 @ 8:15 pm

  104. Wow, just watched the Christina Aguilera video. While I applaud Goldfrapp for stepping out of their comfort zone and hopefully this new project will help them gain a bit more attention in the States, it just upsets me too for some reason.
I just don’t feel like such a great band like Goldfrapp should HELP Christina Aguilera to write anything. It’s just like a little phase she’s going through and once she comes out with a new album she’ll move on to something else. It just seems kind of fake. I also hate the way she over-sings and her voice is so grating but, OH WELL. As a fan, I accept this and wish them the very best.

    Comment by Diana — Sunday, September 6, 2009 @ 3:07 am

  105. Diana, who posted 0307am Sun 6 Sept 09: I usually don’t comment on other people’s comments, but good to do so for your good one. I agree with you, for the most part… … …

When I first discovered the rumor, it was a bit misleading, and perhaps still is. I thought Aguilera and Goldfrapp would be doing a new album together, singing together. That’s apparently wrong… … …

After watching the video at the link I posted here yesterday, my understanding now is that Alison Goldfrapp is writing new material, one or more songs, for Christina Aguilera to use. What I don’t like is my discovery, as result of that video, that Aguilera has done that before, got the material or song from someone else, and then turned it into a hit. You see, I didn’t know that about those songs. I had previously believed all of those songs were completely Aguilera’s own creations. So my concern is the original authors not getting proper credit where credit is due. It might be in the fine print somewhere, but the general public is not actively aware of it. Perhaps the amount of money the original author is paid makes up for it. As a science fiction author and fan of some kinds of science fiction, I know t his kind of thing happens with novels that become movies, and writers who are paid to produce material for television… … …

My impression from the video is that it is not Alison Goldfrapp who is stepping out of her comfort zone, but is Christina Aguilera who is doing that by getting into the kind of music produced by Goldfrapp. I can understand that from a fan’s viewpoint. At age 53 now, I’ve become a bit burned out on original rock, newer rock, and some pop; I’ve not been much into other kinds of music. I’ve been looking for something new – being new to me – for me to enjoy, which is different. I explained in my long posting back on Thursday 27 Aug 09 how I happened to discover Goldfrapp’s music. When I first heard “Number 1” with that YouTube video tribute to McGoohan, I instantly realized THAT is what I’ve been looking for, THAT is the kind of music I can get into now. The good feeling increased when I finally found the video of the live stage performance of “Number 1” and other Goldfrapp songs, with some of the interesting musical instruments used to produce the right overall sound. I’m not surprised – here in Norman Oklahoma USA – to find it comes from an outstanding performer in England, which I believe usually leads the way in new music with USA a bit slow to catch on. I believe it is good and generous for Goldfrapp to help Aguilera to get into the Goldfrapp genre of music, as well as the other performers mentioned in the video. The end results should be interesting.

  106. … … … And I hope Alison Goldfrapp will come back here soon to let us know in her own words what is going on with the Aguilera deal, what we can expect, and when.

  107. Hope your Having Fun Writing new songs! cant wait for the new album, Goldfrapp is all i practically listen to, that and the odd Kate Bush song. I hope the rumors of writing for christina aguilareas is untrue, she is too much of a wh*re for Goldfrapp songs! all her current music is awful and I’m sure any music written by Alison would be sung much better by Alison!! but i suppose if it helps fund more Goldfrapp songs I can live with it lol

  111. Hey there Alison,

What is your reaction to new artists such as Lady GaGa and Little Boots. Do you feel that these new and upcoming popstars are looking to goldfrapp for inspiration.

It just seems that artists like little boots sounds very goldfrappish. Electro and glam rock, espeically the imagery associated with that such as electro robotic clothes, disco lighting and 80’s glam seems to be making a return.

For example, Lady Gaga looks like an extra out of the ride a white horse video.

  120. Dear Alison Goldfrapp:

I have only recently “discovered” your music when I listened to some =
sound bites at our local record store (Seventh Tree) but then I very =
fortunately listened also to Felt Mountain and, as when I became a fan =
of Keren Ann’s “Nolita,” I was just blown away.

Your words and music are so original!

I love the two albums above more than the others because the music is so =
haunting and I thought better for your vocals. Some of the music on =
Felt Mountain reminds me at times of John Barry’s music. I just can’t =
    get enough of it.

Soooo….when are you going to come to California! Los Angeles has a =
great forum called The Knitting Club, and there are many other clubs and =
venues that would be perfect for you.

Well, thank you, for being you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
